Trading both Laine & Roslovic by the trade deadline ??? I don't think Jarmo is ready to throw in the towel on the Dubois trade. Not a surprise if Domi and Korpi are gone, as Domi has not seemed to fit, and Korpi probably wants to go somewhere he'll get more time in the net.
On that note - Elvis has to get some traction with consistency if he wants to be the 1A goalie. From what I saw, although there was no defense in front of him, in the Panthers game he didn't look good - especially how well he played against Carolina. Too often it looks like he really bites on the first deke, taking himself out.
IMO - The BlueJackets screwed the pooch with the way they handled Hoffman leaving the team. I understand Jarmo was probably surprised at Hoffman's decision, but there was no "congratulations your first born" . Just a cursory, " . . . he's being suspended . . . terminated. And like you said, in reality it opens up ice time for development of players more important to the team's future.
On the game vs. the Panthers . . . nothing good to say after a 9-2 loss. Only that Gus continues on his point roll - another goal; and Boone CAN score from more than 5 feet away from the net !!
They musta been basking in the 6-0 shutout of the Hurricanes !!
Hey Zac - why is the Islanders game on Tuesday PPD ?? That's what it shows on bluejackets.nhl.com. But the Islanders are instead playing the Flyers on Tuesday !! What the hell is the NHL doing with the schedule ?? |
