Let's jump on them early tonight and keep all the Panthers' goals on the board.

Not quite there with you, Matt, on Barkov and Huberdeau. The Caps are clearly focusing on them and don't want either of them to be the difference. Both are playing very well defensively, with Barkov at the highest-possible level. The focus on Barkov and Huberdeau is creating the openings and opportunities for Verhaeghe. I think both Barkov and Huberdeau are having critical positive impacts, just not on the goal scorers list. (Huberdeau needs to be careful with the blind passes and cross-ice passes though.)

On the other hand, Duclair has done the disappointing, disappearing trick. He needs to use his speed to open up the ice for the other guys. He has the speed and talent to really make an impact; time for the Duke to show up.

Got to love the game from Hornqvist, Reinhart, and Bennett particularly. Forsling and Chairot have been really strong. Separating Weegar and Ekblad was a tremendous move that took a lot of pressure off Weegar trying to do too much.

I feel good about tonight. Let's just hope the refs call a fair and balanced game; it's a sad commentary when they are the primary focus of playoff games.

Need special teams to actually be special. Lets go boys i dont want to wait to win at home lets get it done tonight. Im not sure how fair the calls will be when they call the exact same play a penalty on ovechkin but not on ekblad. As goldie says call them all or dont hes good either way but show some consistency.

Totally, Jimbo. WSH is def making it tough out there for those guys, but I feel they have to find a way to get pucks in the back of the net. Look at the Capitals top guys, Oshie, Ovi, etc., are finding ways to get on the board.

I know they’re doing other things to contribute, but I’d love to see them get going in the goals department.

With you on Duclair. He needs to get it going, too.

It’s a valid question. I don’t get it. Physical, great motor, great on the forecheck, and a great pest who has show some offensive chops.
