For the trolls, keep coming by and will make sure to deal with you. Want to come and talk hockey and be respectful, you are more than welcome and welcomed to be here. If your goal is to come here and troll just because of your Rangers hatred or to make you feel better because your team is out of it, please go elsewhere.

This is where I’m at. People who want Chytil to replace Strome as 2C are nuts. I’m fine with him coming back, but he’s shown very little growth at the center position.

Copp is the type of player every coach wants in the lineup, really want to see him back. He would essentially just be taking Stromes current cap hit, so a few other moves would be needed if the team is looking to add a true 2C. No idea how that happens beyond paying a team to take Nemeth.

Lets say we get rid of dead weight: Nemeth, Reaves
Let Strome and Georgiev walk
Trade Chytil

It gives us 19m in cap space.

These are your UFAs: Copp, Vatrano, Motte, Rooney
Pending RFAs: Kakko and Blais

This is what the team looks like as we go into the offseason

3-2 Blueshirts..

Raanta comes back to earth and Rangers get some bounces that somehow eluded them in Raleigh.

This could be a series that the home team wins all their games. The team really feeds off the energy of the crowd.

Ok Ranger Blueshirt faithful’s! It is time to show up to the worlds most famous area and make all of Manhattan shake! Make the visiting team feel it through their bones! Make them second guess! The Rangers do need to bring more, but when they do, be there and let that other team know just who the best fans a
in the world really are!
Tailgating, this is Hockey people, a dignified, intelligent sport where we sit with fork and knife at dinner with napkins, You know that part of your sleeve you uee to clean your grill, well we have a sperate piece of material for that. Lets Go Rangers!!!

Ban them all Jan. Make ‘em pay

Zac maybe dress him as the 7th D? But I agree wholeheartedly. For him not to appear in one game this playoffs is doing him a disservice. He needs to “experience” this chaos called the NHL playoffs too.

And I’ll killed for this lol but dress Gauthier. At least he’ll drive the net and forecheck, and he’s fast with fresh legs. No one has driven the net much this series so far. I’d sit Rooney and Reaves, and I’m a fan of both. But sometimes you just need a lineup change

Worry about next year in a month or two. Seriously we are in round 2.

By resigning Blais, you probably alleviate the need to resign Vatrano (maybe even Copp. Wish we had a large sample size to work from). Motte and Rooney should be back to form out the 4th line with Goodrow. I think Copp comes back.

I think Chytil could be back, but let’s be real, he’s a winger. Do we really need another winger? I do think he could be traded, but only based on fit. He’s done nothing but raise his value this off-season.

So if all of that comes true, Rangers need a 2C and 3C. For ease I agree to let Jones start on the left of Schneider. Would we have the cap to do it?

You’re not wrong!!

But we started doing this down 3-1 last series and it worked

Jk, you’re right. Lots of time for these convos when there’s nothing but baseball on TV.

We also need to realize the next wave of kids coming, and they’re wingers also. Specifically, Othmann and Cuylle. Perhaps Kravtsov. There is only so many spots to give players. That’s at least two ELCs on the cap which will help

It’s very hard to see Vatrano resigned if you take this into account. Chytil staying a NYR seems very unlikely too

I truly hate being told what I should or shouldn’t talk about on a hockey blog when I’m talking about anything Rangers. It’s becoming a huge pet peeve of mine.

Do I really need to ask permission? Lol. My god. These are viable questions right now btw, we have no one who can win an important faceoff ffs

Not directed at you so don’t take it that way please just in general. If people don’t think the rangers are evaluating things for next season, they’re mistaken

Im quite aware they’re in the second rd of the playoffs

If there were any positives to take from last game it wouldn’t be as tempting to start thinking about next season

As far as todays game, I’m hoping to see better in game adjustments from Gallant. It doesn’t seem that there’s any structure the team can adjust into while Carolina couldn’t be more structured. A lot to learn from them.

Heres what Im thinking.

Reaves money goes to Blais. Chytil money goes to resign Kakko. Strome money goes to resign Copp. Jones opens the year as LD.

Where I go from here is to sign Stastny (1yr deal) and Eakin. Wedgewood as the backup.

Kreider. Zib, Kakko
Panarin, Copp, (@3m in cap space)
LAF, Stastny, Blais
Goodrow, Eakin, Rooney

I fully expect Cuylle and Othmann to spend next year in the AHL, maybe Korzcak as well.

How dare you

They’re not getting rid of Reaves tho. That’s the fly in yer ointment

How close is Korczak? He’s done with juniors? I brought him up I think you saw. That would be some sweet bonus if he’s a good player.

And you figure Kravtsov is either in the lineup, or he’s been traded for someone to enter the lineup. I think a solution to this has to happen

I like it

I really want Laf in the top 6 though. Not sure why Kreider has to play LW (other than defensively). Or maybe next year is the year he shifts to the 3rd line. Tough to suggest after the season he just had.

Oh I totally agree. I made that argument early this year that I felt that Kreider should be on the 3rd line because they way he plays he can play on any line. He will still get his PP minutes, but at even strength he does not need to be on Zibs line. However I feel its time to let the #1 overall pick, in his contract year, to play.

All they need to do with Laf next season is have him in Stromes spot on the PP. He’ll easily hit 70 pts doing that. He doesn’t need to be in the top 6, Panarin and Kreider are still in their primes

We need to be like we have a solid top 9 instead of a solid or great top 6. There is nothing wrong with having that. This board worries to much about this imo

I think Ducks could help here. They need a guy like him for Z or McTavish .. Verbeek has been pretty clear on that. With he and DeMaio in the fold now as mngmnt and with the Russians St Louis has .. Ducks are way more open to Russians than they were under Murray.

Korczak, might play 1 more year in juniors, not sure what the situation there is. But Im sure he will be in training camp and we will get a sense of where he is. My ideal situation is hes ready to play in the AHL, Stastny is a stop-gap center for 1 year and Korczak is ready to go the year after.

I dont even consider Kravtsov in any of this, hes gone to me. Chytil, Id like to see if we could get a late 1st, early 2nd round pick for him. Essentially get back the pick we spent on him. Nils is another wild card in all this.

Laf should be a staple on PP1 starting today. No excuse not to be. That’s priority no.1 no doubt.
