Gotta love that third period by the Avs though. Huge growth in maturity there, understanding how to play the right way with a 1 goal lead. No silly passes, no risky breakouts, just kept it simple and ate the clock away. This team has learned from its past failures.

absolutely not. bednar would be an idiot to put mcdermid in to play all of 4 minutes (and bednar’s not an idiot, so mcdermid won’t be put in).

i fully expect Jack Johnson to get the call. while i personally think murray has the higher ceiling, he also has a way lower floor and bednar doesn’t seem to prefer him.

I audibly laughed when I saw him out there. Two minutes of a 5-3 and you can't even hit the net. You take a terrible shot and it rings around the board and it's out of the zone. Avalanche penalty kill seems to be taking lessons from the Florida Panthers. No effort to block shots.

The refs in the NHL now are nothing short of god awful. The quality of the officiating over the past few years has declined to a point where I feel they haven't got a clue, they are becoming a joke. Every time an arm goes up to make a call I wonder what kind of crap they are going to make up this time.
