I have zero faith in Neely and Sweeney's ability to right the ship. This club is not a championship capable team with them at the helm. |

With this mess, I dont see Pasta wanting to extend beyond this year...
If they trade him, I dont trust Sweeney with it... |

Pasta will be extended within a week of July 13th. My guess is that it will be team friendly. Less than a 10M per. 8.88 million anyone?
( i think it will be North of 8.88 but one can hope) |

If he resigns, I can see it being between 9 and 10.5m. I think a lot of it will depend on the returning status' of players. I dont think it will be within a week of the deadline though. That and I dont think he will sign max term either. I can see a 4-5 year deal maybe.
Or, lets not rule out the possibility of Sweeney just completely botching it and lowballing him until he gets pissed off and leaves. |

I did not know the Bruins Cap situation was so dire even with Bergeron as UFA. They would need to move some decent space just to be able sign Bergeron or a replacement. Then you still have to re-up Pasta |

We can't take a run at anyone. We have cap space...none! We're screwed if Bergy doesn't come back on the cheap. |

While I don’t agree with the firing, none of us really know the behind the scenes dynamic of the situation. I’m with everyone had it with Sweeney and Neely.
Perhaps a disconnect has occurred with Cassidy and the core, maybe the players were tired of him. Nobody really knows. As a fan right now I’m really disgusted with this organizations front office. It’s a joke.
Aside from that maybe it’s not all bad with the roster. It’s likely Bergeron is signed and who knows Krejci comes back and form a solid 1-2 punch up the middle. Reshape the roster a bit, trade Debrusk, try to land a 1RW and this is a pretty darn good team still. If Bergeron is out & Krejci doesn’t come back it is sayonara. This next season is all dependent on #37. If he’s out a serious retool needs to happen. |

all this talk of signing Bergy and Krejci, they have 4 mil in cap space. So, 2.3 for Bergy and 1.7 for Krej? |

Wait until he hires his buddy Donato. They can start a book club. Just listening to him talk about what’s needed going forward makes me sick. He should watch Tampa . When they need a win they don’t get competitive they get mean. They play win at all cost. Make opponents uncomfortable. Goalies get no breaks. Hope I’m wrong but Ted Donato is just what Sweeney likes. Harvard thinker. The b.s good communicator. Played just like him. Give out the participation trophies. No bite. Opposite of real Bruin identity. |

trade Debrusk - Tachmo
OK, 5 according to Cap Central. But cap question here, McAvoy and Marchand on IR, are they counted on the cap or is it prorated? |

Once the season starts Marcahnd goes on LTIR and they save cap-space every day he's out, I believe. Isn't that how TB iced a $100M team?

I think you have to be cap compliant day 1 of the season. Then everyone goes on LTIR and the cap space is given. But you have to be at the cap limit already for it to be used. It's a weird gymnastic thing with the cap. I don't fully understand it.

side note:
What is the center situation looking like or what plan does this team have if Bergeron does not resign? Who is the #1 center? Like honestly?
Do they take a run at Malkin? The cap space has been mentioned so they probably need to dump Debrusk or others this off-season. |

They need to trade a lot of players. Unfortunately half the ones they need to get rid of they will likely need to send a pick with them in order for teams to bite. Debrusk is likely gone for sure, but watching sweeney try and find homes for more people is going to be .......... interesting |

Haula 'stepped up' and played second line center. Lets just make him the first line center now. Makes sense when you dont think about it.
If Bergy doesn't return, this off season is probably going to be more of a poop show than normal. |

it will be an interesting off season for sure. Dons reckless FA spending last year has left this team in a pretty awkward spot maneuvering into next season. Fluto may be exaggerating a bit, I think Pasta loves Boston so i’m confident a deal gets reached. The return would have to be mammoth to even consider a trade. It’s crazy talk to move 88 |
