A goalie, a #2 RD man, A scoring winger, and the cap space to do it. If Holland can't do that then they should send him packing by the 1st of next year.

Bouchard is about to have a 60 point season without Barrie taking his power play time and Ceci is an exceptional 2RD. A goalie, a scoring winger and re-uping the young guys are what's important.

I read an article a while back (that I can’t seem to find again, so I’m a little worried I may have dreamed it) that there is a distinct possibility that Klefbom is leaning towards playing again, likely next season. Has anyone else heard this anywhere, or was my fever at the time worse than I thought?

Holland more or less confirmed Klef is very likely done in his presser.

I can't see JVR keeping up with McDavid, and we are already overpaying Foegele for Lindblom level production. I don't see either of these options being much of a fit (other than getting out of the 2nd year of the Barrie contract).

Kuemper had a chance to pick Edmonton and opted elsewhere. You can try to woo Jack Campbell. Not sure Husso or any other UFA gets it done. Varlomov isn't interested. So I call up Anaheim and make a deal they can't refuse for Gibson.

2022 1st
Yamo/Pulj - pick 1
Holloway/Bourgault - pick 1
Kassian/Foegele - must pick 1 for the cap
Smith - you need a warm body in net

Sign Kane. Sign a couple of cheap bottom 6 forwards.
Sign Kulak and dump Barrie.

Kuemper was traded for a 1st and a young defenseman. Oilers weren't willing to trade one of their young dmen with their 1st round pick for a 1 year rental.

Kuemper did not opt elsewhere. Last summer Arizona was approached by Edmonton and Colorado for a trade, Colorado ended up offering the better package.

Blackhawks would take barrie or kassian on exchange for Holloway and 2023 2nd . Whether it's the hawks gm's know Edmonton needs to shed cap space to improve their roster so they are going have to pay and maybe a prospect they don't want to get trade might have too.

Haha then the Hawks can get (frank)ed That's an egregiously unreasonable price you're suggesting. You'd get a 2nd to take on Kassian and I'm not convinced that Barrie will cost an asset to move.

You honestly think that’s the best deal out there for Barrie?

Oil need to start from the goalies out and be smart. Move on from both Smith and Koskinen and add a few Dmen. Shop Hopkins Kassian and a few others and rework the bottom 6. It all can be done with some creative thinking Holland needs to get this done.

RNH just signed a team friendly extension with a full NMC. He's also a fan favorite. He's going nowhere.

Always amusing to see the lag time in reputation relative to performance. Gibson has been mediocre for three straight seasons now. And his contract is very risky. If making that trade, Gibson must be great or EDM would be utterly screwed for both acquisition price and cap hit.

Who was the last player to warrant a haul like that and why do think Gibson is the guy that should?

Reminds me of the good old days around 2011 or so where all these other teams fans had a depth player the Oilers apparently needed (if the ever wanted to win) and they would come up with these ridiculous trade scenerios that nobody would make . Well. Nobody other than Chiarelli.

Koskinen didn’t waste any time.

Signed two year deal in Switzerland.
