I get this feeling more and more they want to replace Malkin with a 2 way center who plays a more responsible game/plays more of a Sullivan type of game. I think they are pretty close to resigning Letang

Which one is Jack Johnson? Pens should sign that one.

I think if they secretly want to move on from Malkin, it's mostly because of concerns that his age and injury history will have him fall off a cliff.

I think writers are trying to sell clicks right now. Until proven wrong, I think it's highly unlikely Geno tests the market.

You think? It sort of feels like it's shifted to me and Malkin at least feels low-balled. (Whether he is or not don't know, and that's not taking into account if anyone believes he's earned a higher contract regardless)

Rust is the only significant signing that has occurred since the trade deadline in the entire league. I wouldn’t read into anything beat writers are putting out.

He needed something to complain about other than Jonathan Toews making a completely arbitrary list that Malkin did not.

If I were his agent I wouldn't let him sign a deal the minute his season ended. I understand certain players are willing to sacrifice a few bucks to get the situation they prefer, but there's virtually no benefit for Geno to sign now. I still don't understand why Rust signed. Clearly, he liked his situation.

Does anybody really believe there aren't subtle "off the record" conversations happening at this point?

With how tight-lipped they're being, I feel like there's so much baseless speculation.

Well this certainly isn't the place for such nonsense.

By the way, did anyone notice on that link that Eklund is working on the "2016 Trade Rumor Chart" featuring Laine, Nylander, Gaudreau, Fleury, Ryan Smith, Giroux, Forsberg, Fiala, Chiarot, Jack Campbell, and Bergeron?"

They should freeze the salary cap and cap the salaries When A single guy gets that kind of money the only ones who pay for it are the fans. Freeze the cap and be more prudent the way you spend the FANS money. Outrageous cost for tickets is really a crime. When a player doubles his salary, he does not double his stats. Put a freeze and stop all the trading of dead salaries Money means nothing to the morons who run this league It is the fans that always foot the bill

The one who has the most points per 60.

Side question:

If Alex Ovechkin takes 50 shots from 10 feet away with Louis Domingue in net, and then I take 50 shots from 10 feet away with Igor Sheshterkin in net, would both Ovechkin and myself have the same xGF?

Need more context. Is this from the slot? Angles? One timer? Royal road pass? Low to high? Do I have a data set to determine your shooting talent?

My man, I can't wait to see what you guys do. They should be re-signing Chiarot to a big contract this summer.

Dreger on The Instigators says the Flyers didn’t bring in Tortorella in on a 4-year deal to help with a rebuild, expects Chuck Fletcher to swing for the fences this offseason and try to hit a couple of home runs, DD says they’re definitely a team to watch this summer.
