Why was Bill Daley’s voice worn out? Cheering for Colorado or yelling at the refs for not being able to count again? What a failed league. |

I've hated Colorado since they killed my Devils in game 7 in 2001.
That really hurt.
But I was rooting for the Avs over Tampa and it was an excellent series.
Playoff Hockey remains the best. |

Oh, cry more. Considering both teams had too many men on the ice and it didn't impact the play resulting in the goal at all, it's a moot point. Tampa lost to the better team. Period. |

Next to 'legal' headshots, loser points and shootouts, the tradition of booing Bettman is the most embarrassing thing about the sport we love to hate.
Congrats to the Avs |

The one I keep hearing is that the Leafs will lose in the first round. Again. |

2 great teams.
Amazing series.
NHL should be embarrassed by the coverage of games by ESPN all year and especially in the finals.
Sean McDonough is the worst. Clueless. Ferraro more disappointing, as he actually played the game.
Just horrible. A great opportunity to be ambassadors for new fans, and highlight Tampa's stars, but sat like middle schoolers rooting for Colorado.
ESPN is a joke |

Congratulations to the Avalanche and their fan base.
Very well played. |

I found listening to Bill Daley more enjoyable and I have no problem with anyone booing Bettman. But I found it kind of embarrassing they would boo a guy who wasn't there.
Not that it really matters, but I was also surprised because what the heck do Tampa fans have to boo Bettman about anyway? Are they angry he them violate the spirit of the CBA by stashing players on LTIR until the playoffs? I mean regardless of how you feel about that move, Gary certainly hasn't been hard on Tampa. |

Like I said originally. It's tradition. The people booing him don't even know why. I mean...I don't want to put any sports commish on Mt Rushmore, but the fringe-sport-NHL has done pretty well under Bettman.
And as far as the LTIR is concerned....a lot of teams take advantage of that loophole. Tampa just happened to do it with a top 10 league player who makes 9.5 million. The argument on skirting the cap by way of LTIR would have been amplified even more if it was a name like Crosby or McDavid who was magically cured on some ailment the second the playoffs started. But yeah...something needs done to keep that from happening again. Maybe a few million dollar over-cap limit for the playoffs. |

By "did not impact the play", do you mean the guy (Kadri) who illegally came on the ice as the sixth skater 4 seconds early ... that same guy, Kadri who then directly scored the game winner by using that time advantage to get into position for a semi-breakaway? That same guy, lol?
Now, I will say that the Avs were completely dominating play at that point, and based on that they deserved to get the next goal...so ultimately the better team won at that point. Still, the illegal line change directly impacted the play by the illegal replacement player scoring.
To believe otherwise is at best disingenuous. |
