Only makes sense if they do something with the money. Makes no sense to me why Poile did not spend to the Cap last year either for players or to get draft picks to absorb other teams financial mistakes. Maybe Ownership gave him an internal Cap

Makes sense too in the sense that you're not extending and overpaying somebody who hasn't panned out and yet continues to be one of the coaches favorites despite not offering much on the ice. Why resign someone you no longer think is worth the investment and is no longer part of your future? The best way to keep Hynes from favoring guys like Kunin and Harpur are to make sure they're not on the roster at all. Now Hynes will have to play somebody else in that role Kunin seemed to have a strangle hold on. Still makes me wonder why Poile every thought this guy was worth Bonnino and two picks.
