Zachas younger, plays same positions, probably gonna be cheaper and scored similarly to Haula with much worse linemates. He also posts pretty solid possession numbers. Is he a bust for his draft spot? Sure, but he doesn’t suck. Got a former 1st rounder who could still have something more to give for a bottom six vet we signed for free last year. Not seeing what the issue is here

And he doesnt suck, he just sucks worse than who we traded to get him.

Never been a fan of Zacha and he wasn’t exactly playing with scrubs in New Jersey. Maybe he’ll find his way on a new team but hes largely been a passenger.

I think that is low, Probably more like 4 years, 3.25 total with a NMC the first three years. Zacha will be Sweeney's 'big splash'

I can't imagine the savings will be significant. Haula at 2.375 is already pretty cheap.

I would've kept him. He was solid on the 4th line and far from a problem. Seemed to be a positive to have in the room. A lot of leadership missing now with still no Bergeron and Marchand out til December.

And I agree, Lazar at 1M wouldn't have been a bad deal.
