What kills me is this whole conversation. Sweeney talks like he has any options. He had no choice but to wait and pray. What is his plan b if both decide not to come back. He has no cap space . The guy he just traded for isn’t even signed. Guess he will just make his boy Nosek top center. He traded Haula who played reasonably well. Let Lazar go who played better then anyone on the 4th line. Now again let’s see his replacement. Accairi who is better then Nosek and Foligno just signed for 1.25 mill.
I think B and K are both coming back which of course makes this team competitive but it’s not like it’s a big GM move. He made his moves yesterday for the team he should be running Providence. I like Greer he has some bite. |

His hands are pretty tied this year regardless of Krejci and Patrice.. Since they are entertaining the thought coming back cheap, i guess you have to take a last shot. Especially with the team pretty much already constructed.
They are making one last push then a deeper build is coming next year when they have some freedom.
The only reason you move on from Lazar is to leave a spot open for the kids. Hopefully they can move Foligno. Nosek is ok on the 4th. I don’t like the Haula move at all. |

I feel like this management team have a lot in common with the creators of the Fast and the furious movies.
Got the band back together for one last ride, when the ride should have stopped 4 movies ago. |

They made it to the final three years ago and the wheels haven’t fallen off either one yet so why wouldn’t you if they will sign for below market value? |

This I can get down with. I have the very first winter classic jersey but its blank. This is the year to finally invest in a Bergy Jersey. |

I’ve gone Patrice for each of the last three winter classics so I think I need to keep it going.

is there any indication that they will sign below market value? I think it was Ty Anderson talking on the radio last week saying Bergy was looking for the same money if not more.

It been why I've skepitcal of both players returning. They're both still playing at a high level. I just don't see a reason why either player takes a vet minimum other than fans are hoping/praying they do.

I think that Patrice in particular would understand that he isn't going to be asking for 7M.
AND If he did want to be paid 7M, i don't think he would wait until free agency to tell the Bruins that. If he wanted 7M they would have purged more than Haula at this point.
Patrice also has many more avenues of making money with the Boston Bruins after he is done with hockey.
Krejci probably just played for pennies to play in Czech to be with his family so I don't think money is the main priority. If he was looking for a last payday, i think he would be actually testing free agency. He's not really in a position of power at this point. The Bruins don't have the cap room and he just played in a league lesser than the AHL. |

You make it sound like Sweeney is doing them a favor.( their coming back cheap so take a last shot). Sweeney is praying they come back because that’s the only chance this team has. He has no plan b to replace them because he has no money . And next year is not so great once you pay Pasta.
He is ready for a deeper build next year ?
And please tell me about the kids he has to play tough physical hockey ?
Everything has to fall right for us to have a chance. The 2 kids Lysell and the big dman from college have to be special right away along with Bergy and Krejci playing at their best. Even then we have to get some bite.
Here’s to getting lucky this year.
Not looking forward to the DEEP build with the guys we have in charge. |

I don’t think Sweeney is doing them a favor. Both Krejci and Patrice in this scenario would be doing the Bruins a great favor for this year.

Well the crows are on ice...now it's a matter of who's eating them (you guys or me).
The fact that Bergy supposedly called Zacha to welcome him is a good sign though. |

Do you not understand loyalty? Bergy in particular bleeds black and gold. Believe it or not, some people do sometimes do things for reasons other than money.
