Joesph signs in Ottawa for 4 x 2.95.... IMO that prices Kylington out of Calgary as he's sure to get more than that.
Mackey should and will likely be our 7D and honestly I think moving Kylington for a pick or 2 is the right play. Not sure what trade value Vali has today but I would look to move him for a pick too.

I posted this in a past spot somewhere:

BT should target Martin Necas in Carolina if possible with one of our D going back there, I believe Carolina would be interested. Or swing for the fences with Ottawa and try to get them to part with Stutzle for Hanifin in a deal (Ottawa needs a top4 D). Kylington and Tanev were a fantastic pairing last year, why can't we keep them together, Weegar takes Hanifin's spot, Zadorov with Meloche or Mackey... Valimaki could probably be shopped too. Then resign Stone for the 8th dman spot if he'll take it! Anyways, just a bunch of spitballing, hopefully BT is mapping out some possibilities to strengthen our top 9 forwards and making some calls on his summer vacay! GFG!

Yeah no way they will part with Stutzle. Maybe for Batherson but the Team Canada stuff may be a deterrent. I would look at giving the Hawks Monahan, Valamaki & a 3rd for Toews & they eat 3.0 mill of the cap.

I would see if Buffalo would do Hanafin for Cozen? But I definitely think we should consider W Karlsson from Vegas for Valamaki & a 4th.

That Chicago proposal seems fair and interesting.
I like the Cozens offer too but he is pretty popular in Buff.

Karlsson has really started to decline. 14 and 12 goals over the last two seasons. Don't need to help them out by taking on $5.9M for 5 more years. If Vegas wants out help, we could do Valimaki + Duehr for Nolan Patrick and Nick Roy. They can't really afford Roy and NP has been off the roster more than he's been on.

Yeah I noticed that the second RFA contracts players sign, tend to pay a little more per year, than all the money totaled from their ELC and RFA contract #1.

Kylington's made $2.7m so I'd expect him to sign for $3m/yr, $4m tops.

Thanks for the Blog Trevor.

One has to think Kylington is gone.

Mackey seems to be a Sutter style player. Agreed they need a 2C.

I wonder how much of Karlsson’s decline is mental? Vegas has turned into a poop show.

Doubt they would trade him in the division.

Whole team seems to be dealing with long term injury problems from so many deep runs since 2018.

They have become a place that welcomes the new and forces out the old to pay for them. May karma continue to impact thir success.

Do you think Kylington alone would be enough? I think Tre would have to add.

What about Stastny? He is old as ballz but he can slide over to wing for the couple games Monahan is healthy.

I wonder if they could get Seguin with half salary retained for future Considerations?

Well Karlsson is 4 years younger than Backlund & I think a change in scenery to a team like Calgary would not be all that bad. He definitely would be the 2C we can build a line around & push Backlund to the 3 C where he should be. 29 years old isnt that old my gosh haha. Not sure on Patrick, he seems like a Yakupov trajectory of a failed top 3 pick. Roy is decent but dont see Vegas trading him especially to us.

Yeah I think Toews would have a real good impact on our group & the guy wins faceoffs & knows how to elevate his game. He's cut out of the same type of drive that Perry & Pavelski have where they can elevate their game when needed & show why they were elite. I like that move. If Monahan rebounds, Chicago scores a great TDL return with him.

Despite the Flames fan base, Kylington does have value, Crouse would flourish in aSutter system.

I like the trade too. Toews' cap hit is $10.5M but his salary is $6.9M. It's possible the Black Hawks are on Monahan's 10 team no trade list.

I agree Kylington has value, but he also got the Tanev bump. I believe Crouse had a pretty good year on a pretty crappy team. He is their 1C correct? Not sure who they have in their system but to me it would take more.

What is Coronado’s status? Has he signed with the Flames yet? I believe he is going back to College for another season. But if he is not showing signs of wanting to be a Flame trade his ass.

Vegas isn’t giving away young cost controlled assets. They’ll give away a guy like Karl or Lehner before they ever have a conversation about guys like Roy and Patrick.

Well even if Chicago is on his NT but I doubt that would be the case, he would probably waive it to go to a team where he can be a top 6 C option in a contract year. Plus with Johnny gone, who knows. I would rather do that deal than overpay Kadri on a 6-7 year deal.
