Lou is really holding up the rest of the league with this Kadri nonsense and it's getting annoying.

I'd rather turn to Milano or Rodrigues instead (if they accept $1M like Heinen) BUT if Phil shows he's in game shape I wouldn't be against it. Give him his 8 games guaranteed just to surpass Yandle and after that let him fight for his spot with the likes of Archibald, Zohorna, O'Connor, Poehling etc.

Yea I'd rather try and get Milano as well. Being he's younger and had a connection with Rakell it helps our bottom 6 out too with moving Zucker down.

For sure. I could see Milano and Rakell with Malkin doing just fine. It would be fun actually.

That said I hope Zucker can have a 50 point season with us if he stays up.

I'm still in the trade Zucker (even if money needs to be retained) and Kap. Then sign Kessel, Milano and potentially Steel if they can manage it.

I could totally see us trading Kapanen + PO Joseph or Pettersson + a Pick or prospect for a middle 6 winger.

If it doesn't happen I think we'll be just fine. We look good in the forward department. Steel would be nice for the 3rd line.

We can't trade Petterson, and Kap ain't going anywhere. Zucker was a possibility but it seems likely not now. I would absolutely love to try and swing a deal with Chicago to get Kane and send Zucker their way but we just don't have the horses to do it.

LOL ok manager. If they traded Matheson and Marino they could damn well trade Pettersson but it is unlikely tbh. This kind of trade with the addition of Kappy I could just see happening with Vancouver for Garland or Boeser.

Me saying they can't trade Petterson has nothing to do with them moving Math and Marino. Our LD is very vulnerable and Petts is our best LD at the moment, can't move him and not bring in another LD. If Dumo is better than last season I like our top 4 D a lot.

It's hard to hear Pettersson is our best LD. He can't move one body in front of the net. Too skinnny. Dumoulin fell off a clif last season but he's always been good and a lock on the 1st pairing. I think he'll be just fine next season.

As for PO Joseph obviously we'd like to see him get bottom pairing minutes first but I trust him moving forward if he stays with us.

It's not all about toughness, yes it's good to have that too but Petterson is a mind player(positioning and can see ahead how to defend a play). It's good to have a mix and I like our second pair a lot. You can't have 6 Orpiks out there, yea there would be big hits but players would be left wide open on lots of plays.

Edit: You can't have 6 Pettersons out there as well.

You trust an unproven 185 lb black Pettersson but don't think a proven 176 lb white Pettersson is good enough because he can't move bodies? Odd.

Did anyone hear that Blueger was possibly involved in the Petry deal? Just read a DK article(yea yea lol) but he mentioned that Blueger was possibly involved in the deal and I hadn't heard that.

I heard that as well which is why my thinking is they may be looking at Poehling as a possible replacement for Blueger if it looks like Blueger will price himself out.

Yea, it would also get us comfortable cap wise. But if we're going for it in these last three years I think I'd rather have Blue this year even if he's just walking next season, unless we can sign Milano for 1mil.

If Blueger prices himself out it will be because of Carter which really irks me, but I'm confident the Pens can replace 4C with at least the likes of DOC. He really showed the ability to handle C duty even if he wasn't scoring. He was still playing sound 2-way hockey and generating chances.

Poehling concerns me because he doesn't have any semblance of a defensive game.
