The Islanders are a team to me that is so hard to read. They're a pretty mediocre team, but Sorokin is such a good goalie and if they do add someone like Kadri, while I don't think that turns them into a contender or anything, I think they now challenge for the #4 spot with the Rangers.

That Epstein/Clinton comment from him was hilarious though.

Rangers are also better than Pens and Caps even with Shesterkin and Kreider taking a slight step back which I am sure Kredier will but not Shesterkin. Miller..Lafraniere..Kakko...Schneider all a yr older with some real good playoff experience last yr. Add Trochek who many Pen fans posted they wanted and Kratsov they will be top 2 . Good luck enjoy your season hope to meet you again in playoffs but health is key with the Pens senior league team.

I was bullish on Jonathan Drouin way back when Tampa was stashing him in Syracuse instead of playing him on the big roster. I have been underwhelmed by his NHL career. His underlying numbers are rarely good and his point production isn’t close to being good enough to overcome it.

Wow...it's almost like the management and coaching staff that watched him every day knew he wasn't ready.

Obviously if we're healthy the worst I see us is a wild card spot. I really feel bad for the Islanders fans, the players that were let go of and upper brass thinking Trotz was just gonna keep them in the playoffs was a ridiculous idea, then they get rid of him. When they decided to keep Palmeri over Eberle I was happy as hell, he always kills us lol

I wouldn't call either a lock over another. The Rags are hoping some of the young guys step up to take bigger roles, losing Strome, Copp and Vatrano isn't anything to just say whatever to. They did add Vinny who I like but it's definitely a guessing game all while Kreider won't have 52 goals again. I think the Pens defense is better than last year, while the forwards stayed the same minus Rodrigues.

I bet Lou is regretting that one. Palmieri has become their Zucker.

He had a good playoffs and a garbage following season along with the rest of the team. If he has a bad season again then there’s a problem.

The Rangers won the series and were the better team from when Crosby got injured in game 5 moving forward. Good for them, good run, but living in NY and being friends with and related to multiple Rags fans. (to say nothing about the fact that the PEns had an AHL goalie most of the series) NONE thought they were better, because they re not. Carolina, the Iles depending on what they do, Rags fans should worry about the Rags.

Rangers are better than Pens in every aspect. Better offensively..defensively and in net...the advantage the Pens had was in experience by a longshot...Rangers have closed that gap after last year. Pens had their run and it was a great one but they are on their last legs.
