Odd timing - I just had a conversation with a buddy of mine (good hockey guy) who loves both players. He said that the only situation he would trade either for was to try and pry Oettinger out of Dallas…they do have whack-a-doodle owners.

Oettinger is intriguing…I think he’s gonna’ be good…like in the top goalies of the league good, but…he isn’t worth Marner, and I’m not sure why they want to trade Willy now unless it’s a knock their socks off deal. He has 2 years left to show his stuff and I don’t think he’s close to being at the top of his game yet. I think his defensive game will be a focus for him. And…the Leafs don’t seem to want to spend a whack on a goalie, now or in the future…money or top assets.
