It's a good deal for Anaheim. Not for the stats that Klingberg brings. But the value in bringing a big name to team that hasn't been spending over the last 4 years. It shows at least a little bit if willingness to spend. The Duck could have just nickled and dimed there way to the cap floor. But spending 7 million and taking the time to maybe trade him to a winning team a the deadline is a positive no matter how you look at it.
Agree with all of your points, Ben. This is just a brilliant move. Klingberg gets the chance to prove he's worth a long-term deal somewhere and it takes the pressure off of Drysdale to be the man on the PP. The more I think about this deal, the more I like it!
Now all we need to do is trade Gibby and lock up Bedard.
Take some salary back from another team maybe??
McTavish and Bedard have undeniable chemistry…

Monster McTavish will have that same chemistry with Strome no problem who is a fantastic passer. Along with Vatrano who is a terrific shooter, that is going to be a outstanding 2nd line.
