7 years is too much... but I hafta give Treliving credit for this. After bungling Gaudreau, he has succeeded in replacing both Johnny and Tkachuk with comprable talent in the same off season. They'll be paying for it in a few years but for now this is great news for Falmes fans, congrats.

They're going to have a bunch of cap in an old Huberdeau and Kadri down the road but for the next few years they'll be just fine without those two guys. Weegar is the cherry on top.

Flames are a much better team today, than they were at the end of last season.

Day 20. I knew the Islanders moved on. Kadri to Calgary.



I honestly think this is a, Kadri didn't actually want to play for the Islanders scenario. He would be a 40 point scorer for that team and he knows it.

Hope the Sabres take on Monahan and the final year of his contract. They need a center who can win faceoffs and if he is healthy, he could take pressure off of Cozens, Krebs, Mittelstadt as the 2nd line center. If he isn't healthy, then they shed his contract and take whatever Calgary sweetens the deal with in order to have them take the money off their books. That being said, I would bet on him going to Arizona.

Credit to Montreal... taking on high upside, limited downside risks this offseason.

So Lou has a plan. People assumed it centered on Kadri. But maybe it has nothing to do with Kadri and he'll be signing a cheap 1-year deal back in Colorado".

If Monahan is healthy he can still contribute. Cap hit this year is not pretty but future contract would be on the cheap.

Yes, after multiple sources confirmed the news, I also had a feeling NYI moved on.

Also not sure why its reported as CRAZY? He wasn't going to sign a 1-year deal with Colorado. That was CRAZY. I wrote earlier this week. He's going to just suck it up and sign a long-term deal for less money than he originally hoped for. We knew all along Calgary was interested in the player. I thought Buffalo was a possibility. Maybe Anaheim. This wasn't exactly rocket science.
