Meh, solves the 2C challenge, adds the pest factor and he showed he's capable of being a top guy if he smartens up. Playing with the Av's changed his game. Cost is my only concern but if Monahan is moved thats a bonus.

Meh, solves the 2C challenge, adds the pest factor and he showed he's capable of being a top guy if he smartens up. Playing with the Av's changed his game. Cost is my only concern but if Monahan is moved thats a bonus.

Totally agree. People get too fcking hung up about 4 years down the road. Who cares, our window is going to be the next 3-4 years, cross the bridge of suck when we get to it. Right now, that is our #2 centre everyone is screaming for without having to give up any of our top 4 D. Wonder if Columbus take a nibble at Monahan to reunite him & Johnny.

I still think Tre is going to tinker. As Trevor mentioned, we have a bit of a backlog at D and we could move (someone) for some future, Weegar signing now that the 2C is solved.

Calgary went from a nightmare scenario to begin the off-season to quite the rebound. I don't like Kadri in the slightest but Calgary came out looking pretty solid.

7x7 ?!?! Well done Brad. This contract is a steal, even in the last few years, keep in mind, by the time this contract is half way through, the top salary projects to be around 13 mil and 7 mil for a 35 year old Kadri seems pretty relative. I was never a fan of Brad Treliving but ill tell you, his feet were put to the fire this offseason and he has somehow walked on air. Unbelievable job!

Based on how the roster is now, it is win now in the next 3-4 yrs. The presumably lower 1st in 2023 is not worth keeping damaged goods and not get Kadri.

Not great, but not a huge deal if so.

The Flames just became the cup favorite for me.

Better Goalie than Avs... and with the additions of Kads / who weakens the Avs and Hubu and Weeger... are just as strong...

Obviously Makar is supreme difference maker... but other than that I like the Flames...

I think fans get too caught up in dynasty mode of NHL video games. Trying to constantly build for a future before they take care of today.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I'd have no issues if the Leafs were the Canes and were one and done. Or Washington, or St. Louis for recent examples. Just winning once is amazing as a fan.
