100% agree with this article. Jets management should be adamant about Lambert joining the Seattle Thunderbirds. The kid needs to rebuild his confidence with two years in WHL, followed by at least one full season with the Moose at bare minimum prior to making the jump to the Jets top 6.

Torgersson impressed me for the most part. Won't be a star, but could certainly be an NHL player in a year or so.

Not good news about Lambert, hopefully it all works out but this tournament wasn't a good showing or experience for him, guess we can only hope he turns out better than the last time the Jets selected a "project" later in the 1st round of a draft... Maybe the Jets need to stop using 1sts on projects?

Heard Aatu Raty had a good tournament, Jets too Chibrikov two spots ahead of him in the 2021 draft, wonder if in another year or two we'll be saying we wished the Jets had picked Raty instead.

I was skeptical of the Torgersson pick as Gunler was available when the Jets were set to pick and in the end Gunler might of been the guy to take but after watching Torgersson with the Moose last season I could definitely see the makings of an NHL player, looks to be more of a 3rd liner but one that can actually score a bit, he has a nose for the net, the Jets could really use a 3rd liner that'll drive the net and contribute some offense.

As much as I would like to get excited about these prospects unless the team stops signing fringe NHL UFA these players won't get a chance to play for the Jets in a long time.

I will preface this by saying that I do not follow Columbus too closely, let me know where I missed. This is my take from an outside-perspective.

Metro predictions:

Carolina
NYR
Devils
Penguins
Blue Jackets
Capitals
Islanders
Flyers

I don't see them being bad at all, but its a tough division.

I challenge you, Jacob Billington, to a hockey wager!

Hahaha I don't do bets! If we can figure out a non-financial wager, I am in.

I do want to be clear, though, I hope to be wrong about NYI. I quite like their team, have some pieces they need to fill, and I think Lambert can be a good coach.

I think Lou is too stuck in his ways to be a top end GM, and there is work to be done in Long Island. The east is stacked, and Philly and Montreal are the only bottom feeders. Wasn't supposed to sound as if I am low on the Islanders, but that Metro is a tough one to judge.

Your post of contrition is commendable.

Alas, I don’t meddle in the muddy waters of social media. And as you don’t gamble, I shall rescind my challenge.

For the nonce.

So, Stastny signs in Carolina....1 year at $ 1.5.
Chevy - please explain !
I would think that you would have offered him at least that much.

Probably did make an offer but it was rejected. Just like jankroks and can’t remember the other player.

This was such a critical summer and crickets.
Not to mention that the very very early returns on this years draft does not look good.

Not sure how you can go into 2022/23 season with basically the same group considering all the comments at the end of last year.

A couple of websites had him ranked as the 26th best GM in the league, essentially bottom 5.

Stastny is chasing a cup, he chose a team with a very good chance of winning the cup, the Jets aren't close to winning a cup.

Don't think it mattered what they would've offered Stastny, he wasn't sticking around this tire fire of a team.

I get the cup part. Although one would wonder if Colorado was an option.
Uprooting your family for a one year deal for less money is his call, I guess.

Many followers were upset in the past about the lack of playing time for the young players. Passing on Stastny provides opportunity for new blood. He maybe had to go anyway, in part to clear up any disfunction in the room. I believe he is close with Wheeler who likely, respectfully, needs to go as well). Stastny staying provides some value to the Jets at this stage of his career but there has to come a time to part ways.I don't think he is irreplaceable. Finally if the Jets won't play their youth it further hurts their options in attracting players to the organization.

I believe they both Stastny and Wheeler have given their all to the team in many ways, but all good things must end and perhaps this is best for all involved.

Both will still play a more valuable role on their teams than 29 year old Adam Lowry.

Just as I started to type this post about how the Jets should look at Sam Steel, the Wild signed him.

Adding Milano, Rodriguez, and Svechnikov immediately fixes the forward group.

Losing Stanley and Dillon to the highest bidders immediately fixes the blueline.

Regardless of job performance deficiencies Leah Hextall and any person doing public work, along with their families, are not acceptable targets of threats of violence.

I was going to say something about directing the anger more appropriatly by writing to the company that did the hiring but that kind of anger is coming from somewhere else that needs addressing. When anger gets too big or lasts too long please talk to someone trained to help.
