Frans Nielson, Doug Wilson Jr and Justin Rai added to staff. Couple interesting names there as Francis keeps building things up.

As for playoffs, possible. I dont think it will take much to challenge and hop over LA or Vancouver reall. Kraken had a LOT of games they were in it till late or one goal losses. They swing that trend they could pull it off.

Goaltending HAS to be better agreed but the team’s overall coverage and play in their own end with the puck needs to improve. A lot was their ststems or lack there of and that falls on Hakstol. On the back end you move out Lauzon who was bad in his own end and I think its more hoping Soucy takes tgat next step forward. Dunn needs to be better but he is really bottom 6. If you are tossing him big minutes behind Oleksiak and Larsson thats a HUGE problem.

Is Poturalski going to make the NHL? you look at Wright, Berniers, Poturalski, Hughes - no difficulty signing UFAs - the future's bright in Seattle. It's still a situation where it's best to tank and get high end ELC talent. You're basically set at center, so IMO you now look for a #1D at next year's draft. Calgary has excess D, but with our deals with Montreal, seems like our GM wants to deal with teams far away and just starting rebuilds (plus SEA doesn't have cap space this year). Donskoi to Calgary would be interesting if he rebounds, that would give you one of our defenseman if a sign and trade could be worked out for Donskoi. Selling cap space in 23-24 would be a good move too, but there's obvious pressure to make the playoffs..

I have had similar thoughts. I think if Seattle is out of the playoffs at the deadline and looking to make some moves to gain assets, Donskoi, Donato and maybe Jones are the likely ones to be traded. They are the only three without deals for at least 1 more year. Well there's a few other guys on their last deals but I think Seattle would rather keep the likes of Dunn.

Only thing to mention is Tkachuk deal was the first actual sign and trade in NHL history. It isn't likely to have something like that happen for Donskoi.
