Thanks my friend! As for the games, last year the Sens Youtube channel had the 2 rookie games against Montreal. I'm sure we get closer to Friday, the sens website will have that info. I will try to post it for sure, or if someone else already had a link, please do post in the comments. Thanks. |

My money is on Phil Daoust to have a surprise rookie camp. He most likely won't make the team, but he has faced adversity and overcome challenges over the last few years to get to where he is at now! If that trajectory continues, I think he will surprise quite a few people! |

Love it! I've actually had a few people, scouts and a dev coach tell me to look out for him.....love those kind of stories.

I hope Boucher has a good showing. Feel bad for the kid. People seem to already talk about him like he's a bust that won't make the NHL but despite the reach he still would have been a 2nd round pick with the projection of a decent power forward. Dorion really screwed the poor kid over by picking him high and putting that pressure on him to perform like a star. |

I love the guys who are strong defensive players. I thought Pinto showed so much maturity at the beginning of last season. Hoping to see him evolve into a top shut down guy who can also add some quality offence.
Believe the Sens top two lines will be really exciting. But, if they make the playoffs they are going to need quality minutes from the third line
....plus an upgrade on the back end. |

I like Pinto a lot, but I still think quite a bit about Kaliev vs Pinto. Two players I will watch closely in the coming years .
A lot will depend on how the prospects develop on D. The defence could be quite bad to start the season, but players like Sanderson or Thomson could find their legs as the season progesses.
Or a deadline aquire could be when they add a player, as some new names could be available.

Kaliyev vs. Pinto is an apples/oranges comparison. Kaliyev is a relatively one-dimensional 2nd line scoring W prospect with limited NHL potential outside of that role... basically in the same category as Jarventie, Sokolov, etc. Pinto is a two-way C who may not have a single offensive skill as notable as Kaliyev's shot, but has the overall skill set to outperform him in virtually every other facet of the game. Both could be valuable given the right opportunity, but I would argue Pinto is a far more valuable asset to the Senators in terms of addressing team needs.

Well said, I totally agree on this one with regards to Boucher. If he can stay healthy and have a full season with the 67's, it would be great to see him dominate in junior!

He hasn't played much hockey the last two seasons, so getting him the prospect challenge is great for him to test out his shoulder too! I hope fans don't put too much pressure on him and that he grows into the 3rd line center position as a reliable faceoff guy and a strong 200 foot game.
As for the top 4 dman, it drives me nuts that we are a week away from main camp an Chabot has no extra help on the back end with NHL experience.

I think when the Sens hit the 20 game mark they will definitely have to re-evaluate the blueline. I truly hope Sanderson and Thomson can have a strong start to the year and help out the back end.

True, a lot of times it's all about a teams need and in Ottawa's case, unless Alex F isn't signed, the only other position for a battle at forward is the 4th line center position.

I truly can't wait to see Pinto and Sanderson, as both of these players will be critical for the Sens success on the ice this season. These 2 players will have a lot of pressure on them and I hope they come through. |

If the kids don't fullil enough promise during camp and the pre-season then Dorio has no other choice but to get someone capable in that top 4. Chabot sure can't be happy with Dorion. |

With Pinto, Sanderson and Greig getting all the love, Boucher can just slide in and quietly go about his work at this showcase. I hope he does well too.

Boucher is still 19 and 6'1" at 205 lbs. He should fill into a solid pro body around the 215 to 220 lbs range.
I like size and a physical edge on the third and fourth line and I am hopeful that he will develop a solid pro game.
A lot of the second guessers thought the Sens drafting of Ridley Grieg was an overreach and he should have been farther down on the draft charts. I notice that Scott Wheeler just recently came out and said he was flat out wrong in his draft evaluation of the Grieg selection. Also, I need to remind myself that I hated the Tkachuk pick at #4.
Maybe we will come one day to value the Boucher pick. But, it will be hard knowing that Silinger was sitting there and available for the taking. |

This is a fair point. I was so high on Kaliyev since they had such glaring weakness on the wings, but with the addition of Cat, and Giroux, that is very different now.
I do think Kaliyev has a higher ceiling then some of the prospects you mentioned though as he is already scoring in the NHL.
Excited to see Pinto regardless as he was having a strong showing before he got hurt. |

Seeing how some of the players who've had injury issues play should be good. From what I heard, in past showings Sanderson's hand was still not 100%. Seeing him play well would help show what he can do (in a limited way of course) to help the Defence. |
