You now have that idiot Tkachuk. You’ll regret the trade. He’s a douche and a team killer. |

That sure is a weird take. Calgary loved him, and no one ever had a bad thing to say about him. Sure, he's a d-bag, but he's the best d-bag in the league, and he will be missed.

I fully expected Weegar to say, "You know, it really sucked getting traded for a contending team like Florida to a crappy bottom-feeder like these Flames. I'm also a big fan of Adolf Hitler and don't like people that are different races than me. And don't get me started about women having the right to vote..."
Of course he's going to say Calgary is better than Florida. Why would you expect anything else now that he's a member of the Flames? |

He's also probably correct. |

Considering Weegar was traded in the summer, and he probably hasn't even met 3/4 of the Flames, much less skated with them, I'd say it's just a typical feel-good statement and not a definitive analysis.
I'm sure if the rumors of Weegar getting traded come true, then the new team will be better than Florida and Calgary.

Panthers will miss the playoffs this year. Average goaltending and a weak defense after Elblad. The new coaches system will set back their top 6 considerably |

Fla has the 2nd best Vegas odds to win the Cup this year but sure, hot take your nonsense all over the place.

I believe that the trade may have kick started a bit of a rivalry. You gotta know that Huberdeau and Weegar will be extremely motivated playing against the Panthers, they will feel they have something to prove. I am pumped as a Flames fan to be in Florida watching that first game on November 16 - with my Huberdeau jersey! |

Right players won't say anything different. Noone in the NHL has the balls Manoah has in baseball.

Wow so much hate and negativity, I think you need counseling. The fact that you get on this forum and talk about him means you really miss him. |

Ah Weeger….to play the way you did in the playoffs and then have your remarkable hair cut thinking your play would change. Panthers added the grit for playoff run which of course Hubredeu and barkov don’t have. The panthers added Marc Staal…ahh way better defenseman

I think Tchachuk, Bennett, and Lomberg will be looking forward to that game too.

Those gaffes in the playoffs are the lasting memory for many Panthers fans, but Weegar is a good player that will be missed. I really don’t care what he said about Calgary being better, what else is he going to say?
I’ll be there when Calgary comes to town. Looking forward to it. Will be very strange seeing Hubie in a different jersey. |

After all the hype around the Bouwmeester led D-Core in Calgary - which lead to nothing, from that standpoint I'm skeptical of the hype behind our current D-core going into this season. It takes a balanced team.
But, for the first time we have two decent centers, Backlund gets forced onto the 3rd line where he belongs - there were too many plays where Coleman was open but Backlund never saw him, Backlund's truly all about defense. So I'm optimistic Coleman and Mangiapane will see a boost in their stats - the same way Tkachuk did when he was given a real center in Lindholm.
This year I think Tkachuk will put up 82 pts, Barkov's legitimate, but he'll still lack a dynamic playmaker aka Gaudreau. Losing Huberdeau seems like a big hit to your 2nd line. Duclair proved himself. Bennett quit playing his immature games with his effort level and proved he could produce with an elite playmaker (which to me proves Gaudreau only wanted to play well with Monahan) - but you still lost that elite playmaker from your 2nd line, and for me that's the difference between the two teams.
Tkachuk's a treat to watch with his skill plays, but I'd be concerned about losing an elite playmaker like Huberdeau. No offense, but I do wonder if FLA pursued Tkachuk - an elite American player - to sell the game better down south, which is actually pretty smart, you set a better example than Tampa imo |
