Although I did support Strome, I won't miss him with Trochek being an upgrade.
He does get a mild pass for playing injured during the playoffs and who knows how many games at the end of the season. |

Loved his leadership qualities, too. But same. Trochek more than covers his leaving. |

I definitely think Strome's injury effected Panarin's production in the Tampa round for sure

In the spirit of camp starting tomorrow here is my too early prediction for the opening night lineup:
Kreids-Zib-Laf
Panarin-Trocheck-Kakko
Goodrow-Chytil-Kravtsov
Blais-Carpenter-Reavo
Vesey
Lindy-Fox
Miller-Trouba
Jones-Schneider
Hajek

Could see Vesey making the team on the cheap for depth though I'd rather have Carpenter as the extra being a center. |

I think either Vesey or Hunt are on the team
but the 12th/13th forwards need to be cheap with no bonuses

Nobody talking about Gustav Rydahl? Big center who plays mean and put up decent points in the SHL. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do at camp and in some pre-season games. |

Not trying to troll, but you gave up a 1st for a RD prospect that hasn't shown a ton of promise when you could have targeted a meaningful player come deadline. Not sure how Lundkvist can contribute on the Right behind Trouba, Fox, and Schneider. Seemed odd that a first was handed over for depth at your most log-jammed position. Maybe something is going on behind the scenes, but I had to look that Lundqvist kid up as I had never heard of him. - bikeguy99

Scratch that. I thought you received Lundkvist! Misread on my part. You guys made the good move. Not sure what Dallas was thinking.

He was a top 5 prospect in our very stacked pipeline the last few years, just no room for him. We won't know until we know whether this was a good trade for Dallas but we really had no other choice and did well considering the circumstances. |

Barry Beck hit a guy once so hard that the opponents skates came up and sliced his FACE! We rarely see hits like that anymore!
Still looks like he could clear a crease even today! |

Gallant also says that the plan is for Sammy Blais to start at RW on the top line with Kreider and Zibanejad. #NYR
he says Kravtsov will start on the second line with Panarin and Trocheck. Big opportunity. #NYR
