Every other team salivating at the thought of a Broberg- Barrie pairing.

They’d get lit up so badly.

Agreed with Turd.

I'll wait to pass judgment until after the preseason but unfortunately Broberg, while playing "solid" to date just hasn't exactly shined. His skillset with no PP time is not a need on the team. Holland's comments pretty damning that Broberg will need to up his defensive game considerably.

I don't see how the starting 6 isn't some combo of:

Nurse Bouchard
Kulak Ceci
Murray Barrie

With Demers hopefully being our # 7 with a successful camp/league min contract.

I still have Niemelainen and potentially Samourukov higher than Broberg again as well.

You guys are so right about Broburg. Barrie is bad enough defensively. But the idea of signing Demers is odd. No money unless you trade a F. What was the point of Virtanen if you can't afford the cap? Again, no money unless you trade a F. Go ahead, trade Puljujarvi for a pick and sign Jake. That would make a Flames fan smile.

My cousin played for Moose Jaw. I do not respect them or acknowledge their existence.

But being from Swift I’d think you’d have at least heard of him. After all you guys like to put up massive signs in any hometown that some hockey player is from.

Never had any reason to go to Estevan. Been there once.

But yeah I dunno I guess I just kinda glossed over him whenever the Broncos played the Warriors.

Still completely forced into making a bad return deal, pretty much a guarantee. Only 1 extra skater rostered with no room? I can't see them getting 10 games in before they are forced to play short handed due to injuries. And if a goalie gets injured, they just giving his pads to whichever forward was in the pressbox, assuming someone else isn't already day to day?

Yeah the roster “could” be done the way DNB laid out but it’s very unlikely. Pul or Barrie need to go.

Wanner is just filling in for Ceci while he is injured in training camp. A nobody that actually showed very well in rookie camp. Better than Broberg did from my understanding.

Unlikely to actually make the Oilers but for some strange reason has had a fair bit of press as well.

My comment wasn’t about training camp pairings. It was about what Sean predicted opening day line up would be.

That’s amazing how they worked the cap. So is Jake and the rest of camp hopefuls cast off?

Still seems like a lot of holes and question marks in forward and defense. The other division rosters look similar. Though the dominance of the Oil top 6 should still be enough for a playoff spot.

Likely only 3 teams from the pacific will make it in.

Campbell would have to be an epic fail for the Oil to miss the playoffs, IMO. They will continue to outscore their defensive inefficiencies well enough in the regular season to get in. Unless there is a long term McInjury or something that sinks the ship.

I honestly think they’ll battle for a wildcard spot.
