Stalock looked bad. He also gave up a bad goal that got called back for the penalty on Schen for holding Savoie's stick at the Blues bench.

This team has been too easy to play against for the last few years. Good to see some grit out there again.

In what ways might Vlasic not be ripe enough yet for the NHL?

Was most impressed with KK. The kid is going to be good. Great skater and skill. Rebuild is going to take time, nowhere close to a finished product, but goal will be better when Soderblom and Commesso are NHL ready as well. Long ways to go, but the Hawks are going to be getting some solid players in the draft for awhile because the rebuild is finally in full force. 19 and 88 will bring nice returns as well, hurts to say, but all good things come to an end. However, good things will be coming down the road in about 3-5 years. Sucks, but that’s what happens when you dominate for a decade. Time to build the next wave of great Hawks teams.

Why rush any prospect right now? The Hawks are going to be bad for awhile. Bring them up when they are ready, plus when they start arriving in 1-2 year segments tells me the Hawks are ready to be good for a long time once again.

Agreed on Stalock, but nobody is truly thinking this Hawks team was built to be good this year or the next couple afterwards. Enjoy watching the development process because anyone thinking the Hawks are going to surprise us are in for a long three years, and will hate hockey and life for awhile when watching the Hawks.

It might happen here to a slightly greater degree but that was a hallmark for some on this board even when the Hawks were hanging banners.

Didn't get to see the game but like you mention, I'll enjoy watching the development process and seeing how KD continues to re-stcok the pond.

I was just impressed with Luke Richardson's chin. Talk about chiseled.

3 Blackhawk Stars of the Game.
#1 Star - Kevin Korchinski - He looks good, hopefully another year in the Western Hockey League will only make him better.

Ok there was only one player that deserved Star of the Game status.

I would say the team defense in all 3 zones showed signs of structure. That is good. Stick tap to Luke.

Defenseman Del Mastro and Vlasic looked "oaf-ish". That is not to say they are useless, but they need a lot of time to improve. Speaking of "oafs", look no further than Murphy. Seth Jones played his usual so-so game. Sometimes looking good and sometimes looking like a 3rd pairing type of guy. Caleb Jones plays so much like Gus (and that is not good).

Athanasiou plays with speed, but his finishing is weak. (Stalberg-like)
Plenty of bottom 6 or 4th line forwards.
Kane, Toews, Johnson, and Domi played a decent 1st preseason game.
People say Savoie reminds them of Shaw. Hopefully those people tell Savoie how Shaw's career ended. Because he is on the same path.
Raddysh, Teply and Slavin had their moments, but not many.

I imagine the veterans will not go to Detroit tonight. Things could get ugly (uglier).

Jamaica Hawk! Welcome back. Long time no hear.

I agree with your view on holding back the prospects. The way KD built the roster with 90% veterans tells you he's not going to stock it with many kids. Looks like he's using the old Detroit plan about keeping their prospects on the farm to mesh and play together while learning the Richardson's system.

With the big defenseman looking "oafish", remember it took Chara 5 years in the league and 2 teams before everything came together for him. I actually liked the 3 rooks on the left side, KK, Vlasic, and del Maestro, and could see them being the left side defense in 4-5 years.

I saw more structure last night than in any of the Coliton's years. Love the defense pinching and the F3 forward being the safety if the puck gets past the D man.

The team is set up to be a bottom feeder, Will be interesting to see if Reichel has a strong camp if they are forced to keep him on the big squad, or still send him back to Rockford.

Regula played the bumper in London, I think he would be a better choice than either T. Johnson and Raddysh for a right handed shooter to receive Kane's passes on the PP.

No secret, but this team is not going to score many goals.

Vlasic is 21 years old, was solid last year, why put him in the minors if he can compete at a NHL level? Its not like he's a tiny 18 year old who's going to be destroyed by men. If forwards are able to walk around him and he's always a step behind sure, but if he's not, let him learn with the big boys.

1️⃣3️⃣: The Chicago Blackhawks are in the midst of an HGTV-level gut job; smashing walls down with a hammer, leaving only the two-by-fours intact, and then starting from scratch.

One KD draft and offseason, and now almost in the upper third in the prospect rankings

The Hawks will not score a lot of goals, but they won’t give up as many as the last couple of years either. My heart wants to keep Toews and Kane around, but my head says that they’ll need to be moved at TDL.

Hey boiler, busy got a new job been focusing on that. KD knows what he is doing. They are going to be bad, but the prospect pool is going to improve a lot over the next 3-5 years.

I really liked what I saw from Del Mastro. Domi didn't impress, though.

I love how everyone is drooling over savoie because he hits and mixes it up. That's what every 4th liner should do. Buddy Robinson can really skate but he's not in the show for a reason. Rarely threw his weight around. Blackwell took some shots on his line. His gloves should of been off. Del mastero and vlasic hat some nice hits hope they play with more of a edge. Korchinski Kane aa savoie guttman edm stood out for hood reasons. The Joneses stalock and Blackwell not so much. Hope adam Mosian McKay get at least game. McKay was great at the showcase

Sikura is good for a couple. Seriously I'm more interested in how the young D perform.
