Love the stories of “Old Time Hockey”! Most younger fans just don’t understand, and apparently never will.

Thanks, Paul!

I’ve always valued the hard workers at every level. I am a low level beer leaguer and not a leading scorer by any means. The greatest offensive season I ever had was all because of a teammate doing a thankless job. Whenever the puck went into a corner, and my line mate went after it, I knew he was going to skate away with it every time. I ended up leading the league in assists all because of the hardest worker on the team. On another occasion we had a player who most of the team didn’t like because he never scored. What the team never acknowledged was he fought every second he was on the ice. On one occasion he single handedly killed an entire penalty. The opposing team couldn’t get out of their defensive zone for the entire two minutes because he was relentless. I would take entire team of players like that.
