One more year then I think they will look to move him, Beck should go back to the OHL this year even if he has a great camp to continue his development. I think Beck will eventually take Evans job next year.

Talented young guys are coming up, some guys on the current Habs roster will need to move on to clear space, Evans is one of them IMO.

While it's unlikely that RHP hits 24% again, it would be equally surprising that Evans has once again a S% of 3.6%.

Always liked Jake Evans. He's a very versatile player that could easily raise his offensive production with a little more luck and playing with better players.

This being said, I agree with Symba, this might be the last year he's around. Too many young players coming in the pipeline.

Guys like Evans, Armia, Monahan, Dvorak, Pezz won't be with the team in 2 years.

Guys like Beck, Roy and Celebrini will make the jump. Other guys like Kapanen, Heinemen, Riley, Mesar, Mysak, Farrell, Rhorer will make a strong push also.

I think it's clear we're drafting Cole Hutson.

Can't wait until the Habs become the first team to play with 4 defensive pairings.

He could play with Lane, Cole is a RHD, Lane is LHD.

They would be the most dynamic offensive duo in the league...and would spend 98% of their time on the ice buried in their zone

What should we expect from the Habs de facto 4th center this season?

- Karine Hains

Staying healthy is priority number one, for Evans. If he can do that, he can be a 25+ pointy player.

I also found it interesting that Evans and Slaf both played their best hockey last year when they were paired together. Slaf seemed more engaged in the game, using his size more, and just generally being a lot more noticeable out there.

I think Evans can be a really decent bottom 6 forward, but I suspect his long-term playing career might be in another organization.

The premise from Karine is 'next year'.....and Evans is a 4th line centre next year. If he gets injured again, concussion?, he will most likely not be a Hab the following season. To be fair, no one expects the Habs to make PO spot, so it must be recognized that many on current roster will be gone when Habs become competitive again.

To be fair, if he gets another major concussion Evans might be out of hockey altogether.

true, but we said the same thing about Bergeron and Crosby. lets hope he stays healthy, if not too bad for him but replacing a#4C is not that complicated.
