Toronto and Ottawa is not a fair comparison in any context. One is a world class, celebrated city, home to Canada's largest population and 4 pro sports teams and the other is Ottawa.

Most places in the world won't even know what the (frank) an Ottawa is, even if it is the capital of Canada. And don't get me wrong, I happen to like Ottawa.

And when in comes to hockey, every single fan of every single team other than a small minority of Ottawa fans will tell you Toronto is in a vastly better situation.

Things could change ........... Ottawa is bringing in a "new" system and it may take a little trial and error before it takes. Even so, the other teams in the conference have improved as much if not mare than Ottawa, so as of now, I don't see them making the playoffs.


One thing for sure, toronto will not be in the playoff hunt, based on how they stand now.

Well they dumped a lot of players at the end of last season, that no longer fit into their long term plans, in the Phaneuf trade, they made the Brassard trade, and have a few players from Binghamton on their opening day roster ................................. so what would you call that? standing pat?
