How do Hagg, Morin, Sanheim and Myers stay away from collecting any points so effectively?

I don't know about "behind the 8 ball". No one expected the Leafs to be so far up the standings this year. They have a few NHL caliber dmen, they have a couple of decent prospects. Nielsen and Dermott. But you're right, that's about it.

The Flyers have more prospects, but also have more NHL spots to fill, as they have a pretty distinct shortage of ACTUAL NHL dmen. Provorov may (probably) will eventually become a first pairing guy, we'll see how that goes. Maybe Gost learns how to play D. The rest, could go in any direction. Don't county your chickens before they hatch.... for now, all of those guys other than provorov are hardly lighting up the AHL.

They also have several decent forward prospects to work with, if a trade is required, and poop tonne of cap room and low cost cap hit players to work with.

I'm not worried. There aren't too many holes in the organization right now. At all.

I appreciate the actual response rather than just posting a gif, which we all know is a telltale sign of extreme rattling

I mean, there is truth to what he says. The Leafs do have to work on their defense. But we've got 3 guys that are young and doing alright in an NHL top 2 pairings. more than enough good young forwards, most of which have 2 more years AFTER this one on ELCs. Piles of cap room to fix issues.

I'm not worried.

I think we should all just be happy we're not the Sens, who are one of the oldest teams in the league, with very little of anything in the pipeline, and no cap room or budget to work with.

Can we all just agree on that?

Agreed. Leafs and flyers are both in a better situation than the sens.

And it's not even close.

Oh I agree with his analysis on the Leafs back end. No one denies that. I just don't see how the Flyers are ahead in any way. They have a Bernier/Reimer tandem going on right now. Forwards like JV and CG who evidently couldn't give a poop. The once greatest 3rd line prospect in the world who I ain't sure if he's playing anymore in Couturier, an NHL d group including Streit, Del Zotto, Manning, Gudas and MacDonald and defensive prospects with the same production as Andrew (frank)ing Campbell.

their team is so mediocre its sad and their fans are so dumb and keep supporting this mediocrity. nothing will ever change until their fans stop being dumb and supporting the crappy on ice product. it's all their fans' fault. fans such as crims and PSG.

yeah, like I said, the Flyers have more D prospects. And prospects can be a numbers game. Not really a tonne of elite prospects, but more decent ones. The Leafs do have more bonafide young NHL dmen.

Giroux is awesome though. I'd hardly be crapping on him. Or Voracek for that matter. They've got one very good line up front. then not too much.

And with young dmen, there are developmental ups and downs. We’ve seen this 1st hand with rielly, he still has a ways to go. Gardiner is finally gotten good this year.

Ghost having a down year, being exposed defensively. As good a provorov is, he’ll have his inconsistencies over the next few years too.

Giroux will be in his early 30’s by the time those guys hit their stride. I think philly is under more pressure to acquire a dman before Giroux really starts to decline.

Great game by the Sens. Pageau may have played his best NHL game ever. Ottawa has only 8 games remaining against teams that are currently in a playoff position. All 30 other games are against teams that are out of a playoff position today.
