i agree with you in that regard. like it would be nice to give the team a jump with some of that kind of play. but the thing i hate about rinaldo is he goes out and gets a big hit but then gets running around and takes a penalty within like 5 minutes.

if he could tone it down it'd be cool cause i really like the first part.

Flyers lost their cool and paid for it, essentially. Barring any Holmgren knee-jerk deals the roster will be similar but I expect the Flyers to win the division next year. They will go as far as they allow themselves to go in the playoffs.

i feel almost the same way.

hopefully last thing i'm going to say about all of this is that i like the team and i would do all of the deals again. but having said that, i wish bryzgalov wasn't the goalie on my favorite hockey team. i'd still do that deal at that time because he was the best goalie on the market and they were aggressively trying to fix a gaping 20 year hole (and who knew he was going to play like this?). i just have trouble watching him. i'm repeating myself like jsaq, but i promise i'll try to make this the last time i say it. i like him as a guy. he's fun and all. but he isn't playing like what they paid him. if it was a 3 mill cap hit for 3 or 4 years i'd feel okay. maybe something drastically changes and i love him next year, but that's a daunting wait-and-see. that is a long ass contract.

and i still love the coach. people will say he didn't adjust, but there's no way to know what he was telling the team. maybe they didn't adjust? if it becomes a pattern, okay. but for now i love the coach. love the coach, the GM, and 95% of the players.

Maybe going with the patient approach in terms of a goalie would have been wise, but drafting and developing doesn't work overnight, they gambled on best UFA available for short term (and long term given the contract) and so far no good.

If you guys had Carey Price you'd be bloody well invincible.
