To SJS: Ovechkin
To WSH: Havlat, Clowe, Taylor Doherty (top prospect according to hockeys future) 2012 1st rd pick, 2013 1st rd pick, 2014 1st rd pick.

Both teams need a shake up plus Ovechkin with Thornton could be amazing, and Wsh is set with picks and Havlat and Clowe are pretty good too.

San Jose doesn't need a shake up, they are doing just fine ...... also, I am sure they would rather couture or pavelski as opposed to havlat.

My bad they didn't look that great when they played the Rangers so I just assumed. So then switch Pavelski with Havlat.

To NYR: Ryan, 2012 3rd, and Nick Bonino (Ana's 8th rated prospect according to HF.)
To ANA: Anisimov, Dubinsky, Krider, 2012 1st.

It looks like Ana might trade Ryan because of their bad start and the Rangers could use another top winger. Ana actually gains $975k in a cap hit, not sure if that's bad or good. But Dubinsky can be a solid 2nd line player and could use a change of scenery, Anisimov has some good hands and passing skills, also both players could play either wing or center.

It's a start. I mentioned this somewhere else, if you're trading for Staal, it'll be a bigger trade similar to the one that brought Phaneuf to Toronto. The Best player goes to Toronto and a lot of players go out. In this case, it'll be prospects/cap hits

I understand the form, but I'm not sure you'd get McBain and Sutter as the throw-ins on a Staal deal. They both seem pretty promising to me.

I'm going to get yelled at but here it is.

NJ - Zach Parise

for

WPG - Evander Kane , Blake Wheeler, 1st round pick .

or

ANH - Getzlaf + Hagman

for

WPG - Evander Kane, Bryan Little, 1st round, 2nd round.

The Jets need at least one impact player for their offence, we don't have the basis of a first line let alone a solid top 6.

I`m kind of new on these boards but I was looking at how the Flames could swing a Carter deal and this is what I came up with. What do you guys think?

Flames:
G - Irving
C - Backlund
D - Babchuk
D - Sarich
2013 - 3rd RND pick

Columbus
C - Carter
D - Nikitin
D - Lebda
G - Mason

Not sure why you would want either fo t he bolded, and you might have to raise the pick to a 2nd to compete wiith other teams for Carter, but yea not a bad offer.

The reason for Mason is that the Flames need a backup and I think with the pressure of being #1 off of Mason he may regain his confidence. At his best he was a #1 type guy so he maybe able to steal a game or two when Kipper needs a break. Lebda is rental player that evens the d-man ratio and evens the cap hits for both sides to get the deal done. He is a UFA at the end of the season so he would be filling into the rotation or as needed in the 5-6 spot on defense.

I think Carter and Iggy is a better fit than carter and nash, but I think Carter works best with a pure set-up guy.

I like the Idea of:

Cammalleri - Carter - Iggy
Tangauy - Jokinen - Glencross
Comeau - Morrison - Stempniak
Bouma - Moss - Jackman

If everyone was healthy and able this would be a team worth watching and would have a real shot at the playoffs! IMO!

What will it take to get Calgary a 1st line Centre for Iggy? What do you people think of:

In a heartbeat. However I very much doubt Colorado would be on board.

not to mention it's 4 under achieving low value players going the other way...

why does everyone think that junk packaged up equals a quality player?

3-5 dimes still don't equal a dollar.

What are we talking Canadian dimes or American? And are we talking conversion to the Argentian Dollar? I mean there are alot of variables here

I will throw this one out there... To the Canucks... Rick Nash and Steve Mason...To the Jackets...Roberto Luongo, Keith Ballard and Nicklas Jensen. 9.5M of cap moving to Columbus and Vancouver assumes 10.7M
Mason can back up Cory Schneider and the Jackets get their goalie in Luongo with Bobrovsky as backup, a puck moving D in Ballard and a top offensive prospect in Jensen.
Lets see if I can manifest this!!!

IF Galy was ready to play this year, I'd go with:

DD - Bourque - Gallagher - 2013 1st RD to Anaheim for Ryan

Pac - Galy - Ryan
Cole - Pleks - Gionta

There's no way Burke would include Lupul along with our 1st rounder next year. He'd be shot.

FYI, he also added afterwards that the picks may have been switched:
