Last year, just after the American Thanksgiving Weekend, seven of the eight teams, sitting in a playoff position in the Eastern Conference, made the playoffs. Only one team, Buffalo, managed to muscle it's way into the top eight and claim a playoff spot between then end of the American Thanksgiving Weekend, and the final day of the the season.
Currently there are three teams who made the playoffs ( in the Eastern Conference) last spring, sitting on the outside looking in.
Ottawa only has four home games (8 away) in the month of November. The six game road trip to play the Western Canadian teams has not been very point productive in the past few years, so this month will be a good test to see if the improvements the Senators have shown on the ice since the loss to the Flyers, has taken roots and will continue.
Despite a .583 P%, it's only seventh best in the Eastern conference, and the Senators still only have a 37.8% chance of actually making the playoffs.

So not to throw a wet blanket on the current 6 game wining streak, but there is still is a long road to hoe, to challenge for a playoff spot.
