I don't think it's supposed to be a racial, cage is just stealing a lot from american civil rights history which might confuse things I guess. They don't like the androids because they are losing jobs because of them, and people don't consider them to be anything other than machines (since 99% of them at the start of the game are exactly just that) so they don't treat them well.

I think a fully automated future probably would lead to something like 40% unemployment. That's when something like a universal basic income would have to be a thing or there'd be riots and chaos. They'd have to get creative with corporate taxation to make that sustainable more or less. This game is set pretty much in the transition period I think, where they haven't fully adjusted to the effects of replacing people with androids so lots of people are poor as (frank) (see abusive father storyline lol). That creates tension.

The androids are full blown intelligent AIs. As the game goes on you do learn how they work a bit more so I won't say anything more. Or at least you will learn about them if you pick the same branches I did. (frank) if I know how certain scenes play out if you make different choices. Waaaay too many variations in this game, its wild.

cuz female dog

but I'm still a little confused at the level of autonomy the robots have. Like Black Guy was getting all defensive when dippoop showed up to ask his dad for money. But, if you're to believe the first scene with Connor, the robots aren't supposed to show signs of aggression towards humans.

also, why did the dude have to wipe the lady bot? none of the robots have a "tattle tale" function in them like they're an Alexa or Google Home.

Scumbag dad was probably the most David UnCaged the game has been for me so far.

the scumbag dad scenes were so bad and full of tired cliches. they even did the "traumatized kid draws disturbing art depicting the bad things they've experienced" thing. i get that it'd be difficult to really show how bad things were at home in a more realistic manner when you only really have 1-2 scenes to work with but holy poop it was bad. i was really not liking the game at that point.

wasn't kara's memory wiped simply because she was too damaged? like they had to do a full system restore type of deal just to get her working again

yeah right. "she got hit by a car" or whatever is what he said and the clerk was like "yeah okay...".

But i get the feeling, especially with the final shot for Cara or whatever, that he intentionally beat the poop out of her to clear her memory because she probably saw him do some poop.

Detective Robot and Black Robot are my favourite lines that I played through so far. Solving crimes is fun. And the old guy/poopbag son thing has a lot of potential. Lady Robot I don't know. I think I saw in the trailer she takes the kid and they run away but like... meh?

I want an explanation for why they're becoming autonomous and have free will. That's where I'm worried about David Cage getting UnCaged. I can legit see the reason being "MAGIC!"

the abusive druggy father thing was done too poorly for me to really think about it too much. oh no he beat the nannybot so badly that she broke! fear him! poor kid! this is so sad! i feel emotions! maybe he did intentionally wipe her memory i dunno. wouldn't be the dumbest part of that early storyline if that was why he did it.

the detective stuff is actually pretty fun i think. while i was playing i was thinking about telltale batman and how they should steal some of the detective gameplay for that. it didn't really feel like busywork and that type of gameplay usually does.
