goldeneye is fun but overrated if it wasn't your wheelhouse.

there are few takes, besides all of my own, that are more accurate than this.

when they put Perfect Dark on the Xbox store I found a group of dorks online and we had a weekly lobby going for a while

i cant figure out why no shooter since then has been able to come close to having as many customization options as PD. even the got dang bots had a dozen or so personality options to choose from that slightly changed how they played, and the weapons were so damn unique.

the maps were epic too. villa, area 52 with the sniper towers, grid (basically the lobby from matrix), g5 building with the bridges of death, fortress, skedar, etc so many good ones. this isn't even nostalgia talking since i can admit a lot of my old favs kinda suck now. perfect dark is just (frank)ing amazing.

granted it was on an emulator, but I tried to play some GameBoy and N64 games over the last few months, and they're not nearly as fun as I remembered them.

that makes sense. i absolutely loved the first rainbow 6 back then. like i was really into it. but i tried to play it again a few years ago and despised the controls and all and it didn't seem fun at all. but i know i had a blast with it back in the day. video games are weird like that.

We take it for granted now, but Call of Duty basically streamlined shooter controls into one setting and for the most part it’s “perfect”.

I remember switching between older shooters and there wouldn’t be a single button similarity between the two of them.

I forget which FPS game it was but running was on the R trigger, interact was on the left trigger, ADS was L bumper, R bumper was reload, A was jump, Y grenades and B was shoot.

lol exactly. you had to basically spend the first hour with every game mapping your brain to the buttons.

This year will mark the 20th anniversary of “The Sixth Sense,” a film that introduced Shyamalan to the masses, a borderline great film that, in the light of his movies ever since, seems almost biblically miraculous — or at the very least as mysterious as the building of the Pyramids.

It's beautiful. I'm kind of disappointed they are making another because of how well they ended part 3.
