Foot on throat today. Get up by a few goals, shut the Caps down and in the 3rd period Rempe can fight the entire Caps team.

At least Matthew’s had 69 goals!!

That team has issues, going to be an interesting offseason. Saw Marner was crying and throwing his equipment.

Rangers aren’t perfect, but the roster, coaching, style of play, compete, team unity, goaltending etc is the best I’ve witnessed since ‘94. Let’s get after these (frank)ers today and pray the isles take the canes to game 6 at least.

Edit: goaltending is debatable, but you get my point.

There was nothing wrong with the Rempe hit. That hit is made 100x in the playoffs and never gets called, it got called bc of who he is. Ridiculous. Keep playing the same way kid, the team and the crowd love it

I wasn’t paying attention but I see the Leafs lost last 4 games of season while they were trying to hook up Matthews

That’s not a formula a team that hasn’t even made a Stanley Cup final since that total lib Lyndon Johnson was President should be following

The only problem with the theory is that all the Bruins players also took the poison vaccine too so I’m not buying that excuse

The issue with Rempe is some players get a reputation and a referee target on their back, where it seems the refs are trying to run the player out of the league. We have had a few of them over the years, Avery, Lemieux, and now Rempe.

That hit he threw on Van Riemsdyk is the same hit Ovechkin has done a million times in his career and has never been called for it once. If it gets to the point where the refs are going to keep calling penalties on him for clean hits, his career will be over before it starts.

Maybe he should spend the whole off season watching film of Chara throwing checks and learn his technique

My only residual effect since i got my last poison booster a few years ago is that whenever Sam says “what do you look for in the 3rd period here Joe” I always get a gigantic boner

And that worries me because Sam looks like a chicken

I know this would get a lot of backlash because of his play (or lack thereof) in the playoffs, but Id take Marner from the Leafs for 50% retained to play RW with Zib and Kreider.

Yes, Mitch Marner with 639 pts in 576 games and is only 26 years old will definitely need to have 50% retained to get someone to take him. The leafs will have no other option to trade him at 50% retained while already being in cap trouble. Brilliant.

The leafs need to ask Marner to waive his NMC this offseason. Tavares is basically untradeable, unless they eat half his cap and get him to waive. If Marner says no, then I guess they're screwed and they just don't offer him an extension once July 1 hits, and they keep him until he walks as a UFA summer 2025. But that seems like an awkward situation for everyone, so I wouldn't be surprised if Marner agreed to waive and facilitate a deal.

I don't know why he wouldn't waive. Is he afraid he is going to miss getting knocked out in the first round every year

Ok, you tell me, how many playoff competitive NHL teams there are who can absorb a 11m contract that Marner will also waive his NMC to go to?

Its either being on the hook for 11m, or free up 5.5m towards something.

I’m not going down this rabbit hole. If u don’t see how ridiculous it is that the Leafs would retain 50% to get rid of 26 year old Mitch Marner, I don’t know what to tell u.

If you dont see how impractical it is to move an 11m contract while also needing the approval of the player. I dont know what to tell you.

All Im saying is it may not be half, but if the Leafs dont have any plans to resign Marner, then theyll for sure have to retain something on that contract to move it.

Theyll for sure have to retain half on Tavares to get rid of that contract, and yet still also get his approval for the trade which probably wont happen.

Both are going to be pending UFA next year. So although cap strapped, its either make some space, or dont and continue to lose with no D depth or G.
