My bold prediction:

The Pens luck into the top 10 and trade the pick with San Jose for their 2nd round pick, the rights back to their 1st next year and a dead salary (Graves, Rackell or Accari).

It'd be hilarious if we won the lottery.

Don't get ahead of yourself now. Have to wait for the NEXT BIG THING...then the league can save the Pens AGAIN.

You ever like play hockey before? It’s a fast game and feel like you can’t really keep up watching.
- Grinder47

I just watch for different than you do that I believe lead to success. I've seen no evidence you are able to identify what makes a successful player. We'll see how Harkins does. If he breaks out here or somewhere else, I might take you a little more seriously. If he doesn't, kind of confirms you don't know what you're talking about. Deal?

I’m not promoting anyone. I don’t work for the Penguins. Like I’ve said. Not really a fan of either just a point of reference. I’m not bullying anyone. People on here are just so narrow minded towards the game. I’m a thinker, a visionary if you will.
- Grinder47

I called DOC for 12-15 goals and 30 points before the season, is that visionary enough?

The truly ahead of its time, visionary thinking that leads one to believe Poulin is good.

What's good? I think he'll help them and have a similar impact to Teddy Blueger next year. (Not sure his line will be is good though).

Harkins v Poulin then next year

Thank God, Chicago didnt get the #1 pick.

A team getting 2 straight #1 picks like that would've been ridiculous. Sounds like the #1 pick has some ties to San Jose/SF region.

No issue giving up #14. Happy to get the final part of the deal done and we can now look ahead to next year with our #1 pick. Dont like going into a season with an unprotected 1st already gone.

Haha no problem either way. Just want to be clear that while I'm still behind Poulin, I don't see him coming in and being a difference maker or living up to that first round pick.

Same. It doesn't feel like a great draft after the first pick. And I'd dread something like Sid goes down long term and we have already lost our 1st.

Dubas has a solid record with the draft. I trust him to make the right call on this front. I think his Achilles heal is signing contracts which is why I think we need a GM

JMO.... He looked like he was playing scared or tentative in those few games this season. Scared of making a mistake that is.

Yeah, but the Russian kid Demidov could end up the most lethal player of the draft, and I assume SJ is going Celebrini.

Chicago could luck out again. Even if they get scared off about Demidov coming over, they would still have their pick of the litter for defensemen. Levshunov. Buium. Blue liners look kinda deep in this draft.

Ok. If Harkins gets a free ticket ride with a generational player sometime next season and doesn’t put up some goals I’m wrong.

Yeah, the league wouldn't be happy to see the Pens move to K.C.

Yeah, it would have been interesting to have a mid round pick. The fact there isnt a consensus on the top 10 behind Celebrini isnt necessarily because it is a weak draft like some view it. Moreso there are a lot of guys who are really good but hard to differentiate between.

This is the type of draft you can land a steal in outside of the top 10.

All he has to do is earn his way up the depth chart like DOC did. Don't act like DOC spent the whole year on Crosby's line.

If the Pens don't sign a big wing to replace Guentzel, I wouldn't be shocked if DOC does end up back there again and has a bigger year. Might even get Carter's PP time.

It might work out well for a team picking just outside the top ten like you said. I looked at a bunch of lists and it didn't even look like almost anyone besides Celebrini was on everyone's top ten.

Sucks for teams picking high that there isn't even another obvious 1C or someone like that. That's the tier where it's rough to pick. 2-5 is usually pretty obvious.

Even though it didn't work the first time. I think I could see Dubas trading for LW cap dump type player. Or I could see Bertuzzi or Domi being a good fit.

Honestly I think Harkins can handle the rigors of 4th line a lot better than DOC. Probably why he wasn’t elevated even though he clearly has better offensive instincts. Unfortunately Harkins can also forecheck better than DOC as well. Kind of screwed himself.
