Spoke to a source today who said the Flyers are STILL pushing for a deal with Buffalo to acquire Peyton Krebs. Philly is also interested in Mattias Samuelsson. There isn't an awkward situation anymore with Mattias' dad, Kjell, being part of Hockey Ops and player Development for Philly. That situation would have unfair to Mattias but is no longer a factor. However, the main target is still Krebs.
The holdup: The Sabres apparently covet Joel Farabee. Philly would consider a hockey trade but Krebs as the main piece coming back would NOT be enough from the Flyers' standpoint. But since both sides like the other's player in the right deal, this is NOT a dead possibility. It may go quiet for a few weeks but don't be surprised if they circle back before the season.
