Askarov Asking Out?

The name of Yaroslav Askarov was in the air as a possible trade chip for the Nashville Predators since their season ended, although that was uncertain with Juuse Saros entering the final year of his contract.

Since then, Saros has signed a long-term extension and GM Barry Trotz added backup Scott Wedgewood via free agency on July 1. In spite of struggling in the Calder Cup Playoffs, the 22-year-old has put in his time in Milwaukee and may be growing impatient for his chance to play in the NHL.

Agent Dan Milstein reportedly said to a Russian news outlet that he and the Preds are working on a solution to the issue. Plenty of clubs need a potential #1 netminder, especially one still on his entry-level contract.

Where could Askarov be headed? Could going back to the KHL be an option?
