JT Miller still really close to being dealt to the Rangers (e4)

Quick hit this morning with a lot more on the way…

At the end of last week, JT Miller was almost scratched from a game as final preparations were underway in a trade that would send JT finally back to the Rangers.

This has been a long saga and I’m sure Miller will be happy when this is over. From what I understand, it is made more complicated by the fact that JT really only wants to go to a couple of teams and would have to waive his NMC. This obviously puts the Canucks at a distinct disadvantage.

And while the Rangers were recently struggling, they were quietly upping the ante on this deal… but suddenly the Rangers aren’t playing that poorly anymore, easing some of the pressure off of Chris Drury and allowing the GM to play a little more hardball….a little.

But this trade is close enough to get done at any moment, I’m told. And neither side will be happy with it continually hanging out there. There have been very few cases since I started covering the NHL Rumor world 20 years ago where a player was almost scratched and the deal didn’t eventually get done….

Of course, there are always exceptions….

Stay Tuned….
