There was some good and then some bad with last night’s victory over the Vegas Golden Knights. The good is seeing Sidney Crosby score twice bringing his magic number to ten to guarantee a point per game season. The bad? The Penguins won, which does nothing for them, with Tristan Jarry being the main reason why the did win.

Since being called up Tristan Jarry is 2-0 stopping 64 out of 67 shots on goal for a .955 save percentage. Basically, whatever outcome you need from Jarry he is going to give you the opposite. I’m not suggesting players shouldn’t try in order for the team to get a better draft pick. That’s not a thing. Whatever players you put out there are going to try hard and try to win. I’m saying when the Penguins actually needed him to make saves, he never did. Now, when it would be more beneficial to lose, he’s out here stealing games when the team is getting outplayed. It is really frustrating. I also don’t think a hot stretch at the end of this season is going to trick any other team(s) into thinking Jarry is “fixed” or whatever. I think it is just going to cost the Penguins their odds at a better pick.

As for Crosby he kicked off the Penguins scoring with a really nice power play goal where the Penguins utilized their bumper and ended with Sidney Crosby’s patented down on one knee finishing move

Who else but Sidney Crosby on the power play? Goal #22, point #69 on the season puts Pittsburgh up 1-0!

His second goal was just him just winning a board battle and taking the space he earned from winning the battle. He made no mistake after getting downhill

Sidney Crosby strikes again! Second goal of the game for Crosby, 2-0 Penguins!

With his two goals he adds to this very impressive list

It was Erik Karlsson who scored in overtime to give the Penguins the victory. It was one of the quickest OT goals by a Penguins defenseman

Up next for the Penguins are the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night.
