Utah still mulling options with Soderstrom, Wings should weigh in

Victor Soderstrom has found his name in the rumor mill again as Utah is openly looking at options. They don’t have to do anything as his RFA status is in their hands. However, the club may want to wrap this up and move forward with the business of hockey as the remnants of the Coyotes franchise have been taken back by the league.

IF there are discussions, this is something it would be encouraging to see Detroit pursue with their own RFAs in Veleno or Berggren as possible pieces to lure away the 2019 11th overall pick. This could add a promising piece to the pipeline and would be a welcome move in a summer of “whelmed to under-whelmed” reaction to the front office.

Admittedly, the Utah ownership in terms of hockey is a virtual unknown. If a player seems to want to leave, is this a team that would want that potential distraction to move on? We’ve seen players hold out, wait out and even walk out over the past several years. Some clubs don’t seem to mind the optics, others want nothing to do with it.

So, it’s up to you now. What do you see as a possible offering for Soderstrom and is this a player you’d like to see don the Winged Wheel? As always, let me know in the comments.
