Leafs have an espresso home stand, when they host the Flyers on Tuesday before they head to California. Big Thursday dilemma in Toronto. Jays season opener at 3PM, Leafs play at 10:30PM. I don't know if I'm in pace myself condition yet.
It's a struggle.
Philadelphia in town Tuesday, they had a brief cameo appearance chasing after a wild card spot. Of late they are 0-4-1 in their last 5 games, shutout twice. And 1-9-1 in their last 11 games, outscored 45-19, ouch.
Flyers were 4 points out of a wild card spot on March 3rd, now they're 10 points out and challenging the Sabres for the east basement.
Panthers sit two points ahead of the Leafs, with Toronto having a game in hand. Wild Card spots in the east belong to Ottawa and Montreal, do you want to face either of those teams in the playoffs?
Leafs are 2-0-0 against the Flyers this season, a pair of 3-2 wins the first few days in January. Toronto has had a lot of success against Philadelphia lately, 13-2-2 in their last 17 meetings, including 7-0-1 at home. Leafs need the W tuesday before they go California dreaming.
I will have a column on Tuesday morning to get you set for the Leafs/Flyers festivities.
