The injury bug has really bit the Panthers, not only Tkachuk, but Barkov and Bennett have both missed games recently. There goes a big chunk of their offence, 66 goals combined. Florida is 4-8-1 over their past 13 games, scoring two or fewer goals in 10 of the games.
Since St. Patrick's Day, the luck of the Irish has been on the Leafs side. 8-1-1 in that span, 40 goals for a power play that has turned the power on 9/21, in that span. Leafs have had trouble scoring against the Panthers this season, 6 goals in three games winning once. Toronto has to take care of the Panthers tonight. Florida is frail and has their tail between their legs. Toronto has the leagues second best road record (Washington). No excuse for getting burnt in the Florida sunrise.
