Leafs would not be De-Knies a victory in Tampa on Wednesday evening. A Knies three goal game did the trick for Toronto in beating the Lightning in OT. Knies (29) is now a goal away from doubling his output of last season. Knies had only scored twice in his previous 16 games. Leafs came out flying and jumped out to a two goal lead, then the lull. Which allowed Tampa to tie the game early in the third period at two.

Scary moment for Toronto when Matthews blocked a shot and laboured to the bench. He recovered and picked up his third assist of the game on the game winner.

Tampa scored two goals on the power play in the third period, so playoff officiating hasn't kicked in yet, especially when they seemed to call a penalty on McMann who was cross checked and he was the one sent to the box to feel shame. That allowed the Lightning to tie it up at three.

Mitchy the kid also picked up three points, with a goal to open the game, and snagging two helpers.
Up next for the Leafs is a Saturday night game at home against the red hot Habs before they head to Carolina for a late afternoon Sundaydancing on ice.

Canadiens are at Ottawa on Friday night before they get on the 401 to head south west to Leafs land.

Toronto now sits three points up on Tampa and six ahead of Florida to win the Atlantic. Each team has four games left.

I shall return Friday morning to look at the updated playoff picture.
