OTT G38 @ St. Louis Blues — Back Half Part One of Four |
|
|
|
The Ottawa Senators are on the back half of their back to back with this game taking place at Scottrade Center against the St. Louis Blues in their first game since winning the 2025 Winter Classic.
The St. Louis Blues are in a reset year as general manager Doug Armstrong is preparing the transition process for incoming Alexander Steen.
The Blues have been aggressive this year, with the adds of Alexandre Texier; Mathieu Joseph; and Dylan Holloway on offense; Cam Fowler, Ryan Suter, and Phillip Broberg on offense; and hiring Jim Montgomery midseason as their head coach after his early season dismissal from Boston.
Ottawa is coming into this after traveling and losing to the Dallas Stars last evening by the final score of 4-2. After this, the Red Wings will conclude their ninth straight game away from their rink.
This is their second and final meeting of the season. Earlier in the season, Ottawa dominated the Blues in their barn 8-1. They need to come back and recover the points lost last evening to keep in the wild card race.
Expect a Jordan Binnington and Anton Forsberg duel in the goaltending crease.

Players to Watch
St. Louis — Mathieu Joseph — another night, another former Senators’ forward down here. Recency bias on this one since he was just with the club in the last season. Sure, there is Dylan Holloway; Robert Thomas; and Jordan Kyrou, but this felt like the right pick. Only 4 points in 24 games is a little rough.
Ottawa — Brady Tkachuk — the son of former long time Blues’ forward Keith Tkachuk, the captain of the Senators continues to lead his team into battle to be scouted against the general manager of Hockey Canada.
Predicted Score
