Slava Voynov will play hockey after missing the 2018/2019 completely. He has now signed a one-year deal with KHL's Avangard Omsk. Bob Hartley apparently doesn't care about any ''off-the-ice'' issues.
''Experience, skill, reliability, and productivity - those are the characteristics that people know when they think of Voynov'' - President of ''Avangard'' team Maxim Sushinsky described. ''In this case, we have to add lots of motivation to that list. He wants to prove that he can play hockey at the top level, he wants to prove that he can play for a good hockey team. We believe in Slava and we're expecting him to show that he can be a leader.'' he added.
A source suggested that the player will be making somewhere in the million dollars range for the year. No NHL out clauses in the contract.
Voynov is currently allowed to return to the states but he can't play in the NHL due to a disqualification he's facing for domestically abusing his wife (girlfriend at the time).
