In the past, KHL has made many questionable decisions but the newest ''addition'' to leagues rules... specifically those that affect their referees are shocking.. and probably also making a laugh about basic human rights.
Three days ago KHL's officials took the ice for the training camp to prepare for the upcoming season. 80 officials (38 refs and 42 linesmen) were invited to the preparation.
The training camp started and will finish with tests to determine the fat percentage for each official. ''For those that will have their fat percentage over the norm will be punished'' - A shocking thing was said by the head official Alexei Anisimov.
But... it gets worse.
League has decided to ban their officials from using social media during the season.
''We're introducing a ban on social media. This step will be taken in order to ensure the safety of our officials, to protect any sensitive information. On paper, the social media ban will last from the start of the season until April 30th when the referees will be under contract with our league. However, we recommend that everyone would refrain from using social media in general and even during the off-season. I'm the only one here who's allowed to use Instagram'' Alexei Anisimov announced.
