I thought the Senators were done their heavy-lifting a week ago, but then they went out and traded Zack Smith for Artem Anisimov. That isn’t exactly a blockbuster, but I didn’t even expect any trades to happen for the rest of the summer. Pierre Dorion still has to re-sign Colin White, but that’s essentially the only thing he has to do unless he wants to get a Thomas Chabot extension done as soon as possible. Three weeks after free agency began, we’re definitely in the dog days of summer and there aren’t many things going on right now in the hockey world.

With that being said, it’s a perfect time to get a new mailbag series going! The mailbag format is pretty simple: if there's something you want answered by myself regarding the Ottawa Senators (or anything honestly...), then either ask it in the comments or on this form right here:



I’m assuming there will be a decent amount of questions, so the mailbag will have to be spread out over two or three blogs, and sometimes I skip a few just because there might be too many to answer or it's an incredibly loaded question that would take too long to answer. I ask that if you are asking a question, try to keep it relatively short because it's a lot harder to answer a two-paragraph mini-essay.
