Early morning on Wednesday was quite eventful for those in Russia. Two major news breaking at early hours.
First Sport Express' Igor Eronko broke the news that the Jekaterinburgh Avtomobilist team of the KHL have signed Bill Peters to become their new head coach.
Peters was one of many candidates for the coaching job, but ultimately the team decided to hire him after a recommendation from Pavel Datsyuk. Although we still await an official word from the team on the length of the contract, it's assumed to be a multi-year deal for Peters.
UPDATE:
In more exciting news for those in Canada and cheering for the Montreal side - one of their brightest prospects is coming over.
As multiple sources suggested to Hockeybuzz - Alexander Romanov has made a decision not to sign a contract extension with CSKA Moscow and finally make the jump to North America and sign his three-year entry level deal with the Montreal Canadiens.
