This week, we got news on where the San Jose Sharks may start the 2020-21 season, saw that a familiar jersey is being brought back and found out a longtime member of the team signed to play overseas. Here’s the weekly recap.

SHARKS COULD REPORTEDLY START THE SEASON IN ARIZONA

The San Jose Sharks may start the season in Arizona. Contact sports are banned in Santa Clara County until at least Jan. 8, which would cause a conflict for training camp and if extended, the start of the season.

SHARKS BRINGING BACK ORIGINAL JERSEYS FOR 30TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sharks announced that they’ll be bringing back the teal jersey from their first NHL season. The jersey will be worn on select nights throughout the 2020-21 season.

MELKER KARLSSON SIGNS IN SWEDEN

After six seasons with the Sharks, forward Melker Karlsson will be heading to Sweden for the year. This week, he signed with a team in Sweden’s highest professional league.

As for our poll questions this week, there was only one, so here are the results for it, along with my thoughts.

QUESTION: Do you wish the Sharks had re-signed Melker Karlsson?

(Votes: 106)

No: 72%
Yes: 28%

As I stated in the initial article, I think letting Karlsson go was the right call. His play was declining and at 30 years old, the Sharks couldn’t count on him bouncing back. It makes more sense to use the lineup spot to integrate younger players, or give it to a veteran who can produce more offensively.
